(Courier-Post) –FRANKLIN  Statuary that has greeted generations of families at St. Mary’s Church in Malaga was desecrated Thursday morning in what Franklin Township police describe as a vicious, sustained pre-dawn attack.
Many of the eight damaged statues were decapitated, and some parishioners did what they could to reassemble them. One woman daubed holy water on part of the hand from a statue of the Virgin Mary. Someone else placed its head back in position.
Franklin police Sgt. James Reilly said there are no suspects, but police are looking for surveillance camera footage.
Peter Feuerherd, a spokesman for the Camden Diocese, arrived at the church Thursday afternoon. He said the attack appears to have taken place between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m.
“Whoever is the assailant definitely took his time and really caused some damage,†Reilly said. “It wasn’t a 30-second melee.â€Â
The vandalism actually took place on two properties.
On the church lawn, a stone grotto dating from about 1955 holds a white statue of the Virgin Mary. Its head is badly dented but largely intact. The wall of the grotto is close to the statue, leaving little room to swing a bat or other instrument.
A brick grotto, just outside the church, holds a statue of Jesus. Its head was removed.
Across the street, the former rectory now is a hall for the local council of the Knights of Columbus. A statue of Mary sits on a flower bed; in front of it is a semicircle of statues depicting several people kneeling at prayer and several lambs.
The head on a statue of Mary was knocked off along with the heads of the kneeling figures.
Police and parishioners said there has never been anything like this attack here.
The church is on the 200 block of Old Dutch Mill Road,….

Aug. 15, 2013 – The damaged interior of the Saint Moussa Church after it was torched in sectarian violence following the dispersal of two Cairo sit-ins of supporters of the ousted Islamist President Mohammed Morsi, in Minya, south of Cairo, Egypt. (AP)
[....] Defense minister Col. Gen. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi intends to fix the damage to Coptic churches at Rabaa Adaweya and Nahda squares, according to a report by the Mid-East Christian News.
Dozens of churches were attacked and burned in riots after thousands of demonstrators took to the streets of Cairo and other Egyptian cities to demand the end of what they call military rule, following the removal of Morsi on July 3. Many of Morsi’s supporters have voiced criticism at Egypt’s Christian minority for largely supporting the military’s decision to oust him from office.
The Maspero Youth Union, a Coptic Christian youth movement, says there’s a “retaliation war” against the religious minority, which makes up around 10 percent of Egypt’s population, according to a report by AFP.
The Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights (EIPR), an Egyptian NGO, says at least 25 churches were torched this week, and attackers also targeted Christian schools, shops and homes across all 27 provinces. [...]
Islam; the religion of perpetual Christian persecution strikes again…
(Christian News Network) –Ashtabula, Ohio — A 25-year-old Muslim man shot and killed his father at the conclusion of a service at a Christian church on Sunday, claiming that it was the “will of Allah.â€
Reports state that Reshad Riddle walked into Hiawatha Church of Christ in Ashatbula, Ohio, approached his father, 52-year-old Richard Riddle, and pulled the trigger. Autopsy reports note that Riddle died instantly from the gunshot.
Eyewitnesses state that following the shooting, Reshad walked to the front of the room near the pulpit and began yelling about “the will of Allah.†Pastors and members alike feared that the situation might turn into a massacre.
Minutes after the incident, police arrived on the scene and took Riddle into custody. Ashtabula Police Chief Robert Stell advised that a motive has yet to be determined.
However, according to reports, Riddle has an extensive criminal past, including a charge of felonious assault from 2007, when he was accused of trying to cut his girlfriend’s throat with a knife. He appeared in court on Monday with his hands and feet shackled. He told the court that he wanted to be treated fairly and again spoke of Allah.
Riddle had attended the church as a child, but has not been a member since.
(KVUE) –GEORGETOWN, Texas — Easter is the Superbowl of Sundays for churches, and an NFL star turned Celebration Church’s outdoor service into a semi-sporting event.
Tebow didn’t exactly preach — instead the pastor of Celebration Church interviewed Tebow. He asked questions ranging from leadership to his famous prayers on the football field.
“I really don’t think I was the first athlete to get on a knee and pray,” Tebow said. “I had the same routine for the last seven years, and this past year they called it ‘Tebowing,’ which I have no idea why.”
A devout Christian, Tebow’s main focus Sunday was his faith.
“Regardless of what happens, I still honor my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, because at the end of the day, that’s what’s important, win or lose,” Tebow said.
Tebow is An NFL quarter back, not passing up the chance to share his faith with willing receivers.
“We need to get back to one nation under God, and be role models for kids,” Tebow said. He went on to say that he hopes one day high school athletes will feel okay getting down on one knee on the football field. [...]

Not just wrong –EVIL. May they rot in hell –whomever they are.
(CBS Boston) –The Rev. Jack Ahern of Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta Church said he found the statue’s head lying on the ground in pieces last weekend.
“Sunday morning, about three o’clock, someone saw someone smashing the head of Christ, completely decapitating Christ and pushed the statue off its base,” he told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 Wednesday.
There have been no arrests.
Which means the Occupier was peeing inside the church.
A Holy Vessel was also stolen from another church housing OccuScum. Desecration is exactly what the church leaders should have expected, once they offered Godless communists shelter.
(NY Post) –There’s no longer room at the inn at a Manhattan church that’s sheltering Occupy Wall Streeters after a holy vessel disappeared from the altar last week.
When the Rev. Bob Brashear prepared for Sunday services at West Park Presbyterian Church on West 86th Street, he noticed parts of the bronze baptismal font were gone.
In a fire-and-brimstone message to occupiers later that day, he thundered, “It was like pissing on the 99 percent.”
In Brooklyn, at another church housing OWS protesters, an occupier urinated on a cross, according to Rabbi Chaim Gruber, who has angrily abandoned the OWS movement.
In a letter last week to OWS obtained by The Post, the rabbi fumed, “The Park Slope church housing occupiers was desecrated when an occupier peed inside the building and the pee came into contact with a cross.”
The artifact vanished just three weeks after a $2,400 Apple MacBook vanished from Brashear’s office. He told the occupiers that even when the 100-year-old Upper West Side church extended help to addicts during the 1980s drug scourge, no visitors touched its $12,500 sacramental instrument.
(STLtoday.com) –A suicide bomber attacked an Indonesian church packed with hundreds of worshippers Sunday, killing himself and wounding at least 20 other people, police and hospital officials said.
The blast in Solo town in Central Java province occurred just as people were filing out at the end of the service.
“Everyone was screaming,” a witness told Metro TV. “I saw fiery sparks and, near the entrance, a man dead on the ground, his entrails spilling out. People around him were splattered with blood,” said Fani, who goes by only one name, like many Indonesians.
It was not immediately clear who was behind the bombing.
Bombings by solo “jihadis” have continued, however, often targeting Christians, security officers and members of Islamic sects deemed “blasphemous” by hard-liners.
“This is clearly a suicide bombing,” said police spokesman Col. Djihartono, adding that the explosive appeared to have been strapped to the bomber’s stomach.
It was packed with nails, nuts and bolts, found scattered around his body.
Critics said President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, who relies heavily on Islamic parties in parliament, has remained silent as minorities have been attacked by hard-liners or seen their houses of worship torched or boarded up.
But don’t blame the Muslim jihadists, the churches should not have been built out of wood. This is what they get for choosing an inflammable building material. According to local police that is…
(AsiaNews) Jakarta –A mob of a hundred people attacked and set fire to two Protestant house churches in Logas Tanah Darat, in the Regency of Kuantan, Riau Province (Sumatra). The incident occurred August 1, coinciding with the start of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting and prayer for Muslims, but the news was broadcast by a radio station in Jakarta only late yesterday afternoon. The new attack against the Christian minority, according to some experts, is also a consequence of the “soft” sentences recently imposed by courts against extremists and Islamic leaders in Indonesia.
One of the two places of worship burned belonged to the Protestant Christian Batak Synod (Hkbp). Sahat Tarigan, leader of the Protestant Christian Karo, reports of at least 100 people who gathered around the building, chanting hostile slogans and brandishing weapons. Suddenly the assailants poured gasoline over the place of worship, then set it on fire. Previously, the crowd had attacked another house church located about five kilometers away.
However, in Indonesia there are frequent cases of violence against religious minorities and places of worship. And the police, instead of pursuing those responsible, justify the fires – as happened in the last case – arguing that the churches are built of wood “and so burn easily.”
Obama should speak out against the Islamic violence/persecution against Christians in his boyhood home of Indonesia. In all actuality he should speak out more often against Islamic Christian persecution across the globe, but there is just not enough time in the day. So the very the least he should do is denounce the evil Islamic goings on in Indonesia.
