Dateline 2007: MSNBC commentator “unseemly”.
Obama’s 2008 election “firm” campaign “pledge”:
“I can make a firm pledge. Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes.”
–Candidate Barack Obama, Sept. 12, 2008
In lock step with Obama during the 2008 election, Joe Biden made the same promise:
“No one making less than $250,000 under Barack Obama’s plan will see one single penny of their tax raised whether it’s their capital gains tax, their income tax, investment tax, any tax.”
–Joe Biden, Vice-Presidential debate in St. Louis, Oct. 3, 2008
That was then; pre-ObamaCare, this is now; post-ObamaCare. As recently as last month looooong after the passage of ObamaCare, Obama continued to repeat the lie.
“So if your family makes under $250,000 — which, by the way, 98 percent of Americans do — 97 percent of small businesses do, you will not see your income taxes increase by a single dime next year. That’s my plan.
– August 8, 2012 Grand Junction, CO
“Now, if your family makes under $250,000 — which, by the way, is 98 percent of American families and 97 percent of small businesses — under my plan, your income taxes would not increase a single dime next year. (Applause.) That’s my plan.”
– August 9, 2012 in Colorado Springs, CO
“So if your family makes $250,000 a year or less — like 98 percent of Americans — you won’t see your income taxes increase by a single dime next year under my plan. Not one dime.”
– August 13, 2012 in Boone, IA
ObamaCare is in DIRECT VIOLATION of Obama’s oft repeated pledge/promise:
The Congressional Budget Office on Wednesday announced that six million American families will be forced to pay the Obamacare individual mandate non-compliance penalty tax.
The six million families who will be forced to pay the tax understates the true compliance burden of the looming Obamacare individual mandate scheduled to take effect in 2014:
The non-compliance penalty tax will hit middle-income Americans, a violation President Obama’s “firm pledge” not to raise “any form” of tax on families making less than $250,000 per year. There are at least seven Obamacare taxes that directly hit families making less than $250,000.
The Supreme Court, by a 5-4 vote, ruled Obamacare was constitutional because it was a tax and, in so doing, ensured one of Obama’s central promises from 2008 was broken.
On election day; Tuesday, November 6, 2012 REPEAL Obama so that his Obama Care crap sandwich filled with MASSIVE tax increases WILL also be REPEALED.
A debt owed to a cash-strapped Nevada school district no less…
Not to be outdone by the delinquent Obama 2008 campaign, Obama campaign 2012 is repeating the same freeloading pattern, by again leaving taxpayers in the lurch for expenses owed.
While President Obama’s fundraising woes are making national headlines, is his Obama for America campaign looking to cut costs by shortchanging school districts and municipalities for the cost of his events?
As the President crisscrosses the country in his bid for re-election, holding campaign rallies and fundraisers in towns and cities across America, local governments keep attempting — and failing — to get his campaign to pay its event-related expenses.
In Las Vegas, however, taxpayers — who for nearly four years had been on the hook for about $25,000 — finally received some reimbursement late last month.
It was — coincidentally enough — on the very day that the Clark County School District finally released to Nevada Journal district invoices and other public records for the Obama campaign’s 2008 use of district facilities.
When now-President Obama was merely candidate Obama, Nevada was a swing-vote state and a political battleground. Candidate Obama flew in and out of Las Vegas often, holding political rallies at local high schools — and leaving unpaid expenses behind.
Now, all around the country, something quite similar is going on.
In Durham, N.H., town leaders recently scheduled a special public meeting to discuss the campaign’s refusal to reimburse campaign-related police and fire services.
Ultimately, an anonymous donor stepped forward, offering to pay the expenses, and the meeting was postponed.
In the City of Newport Beach, Calif., City Manager Dave Kiff invoiced Obama for America $35,043.04 for extra police officers, reserve officers and overtime pay to cover a February fundraising visit.
Newport Beach spokesperson Mary Locey told Nevada Journal last week that, “the City has not received payment [due June 9] or a response from the campaign.”
As such local governments make headlines, controversy and debate grow. [...]

This smacks of heightened insecurity.

(CBS) –Until now, a campaign sign was often affixed to the lectern at campaign events. Earlier in the day, at a campaign speech in Poland, Ohio, a placard bearing the slogan “Betting on America” was affixed to the lectern. The same was the case yesterday at other stops on his bus tour.
Displaying the presidential seal serves to enhance the prestige of the event and contrast Mr. Obama‘s incumbency from Mitt Romney’s status as a challenger.
There’s nothing illegal about displaying the presidential seal at a political event being addressed by the president, but until now, the Obama White House felt it was inappropriate.
In 2010, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs told CBS News that it had been decided “that at strictly political events we would not use” the presidential seal.
At least Obama’s usage of the Presidential Seal is one based on reality (unfortunately). But remember when the Obama used a quasi presidential seal during his 2008 campaign?
Obama will probably [also] be the first ex-president with his own ex-presidential seal too.
FYI: The Latin phrase “vero possumus” translates to “yes we can”. Though, I much prefer the phrase; ‘Non te potest non’ (No you can not) myself.
I’m not sure if it would be a wise move on Romney’s part (most likely not), but it would be hella funny if he were to have a seal of his own mimicking/mocking Obama’s 2008 version.
And you may also recall this skeevy Obama post-2008 election move:
That’s a clown move bro.
Disgusting money grubber. In this 2008 campaign fundraising pitch, Obama had no qualms about taking desperately needed money from the poor. Even if it meant taking their last five dollars. He demanded that no matter how poor they were, they were obligated to be his keeper. The man has no shame. Zero, zilch, nada.
Cleveland, Ohio 2/26/2007
“I want everybody here te, te pony up five dollas, ten dollas for this campaign. I don’t care how poor you are, you got five dollas.”
Below a local news report out of Cleveland mentioning the demand. The tradeoff? Promising ‘universal health care for every American’.
Obama kicks off campaign in Ohio with Cleveland stop at Tri-C East -Cleveland Jewish News (subscription required)
He pledged that “by the end of my first term (as president), there will be universal health care for every American.”
The Tri-C rally capped a day of fundraisers in Cincinnati, Columbus and Cleveland, which reportedly raised over $600,000 for the presidential hopeful. Still Obama asked those in the crowd to realize “you do own this thing” (his election campaign) and to “pony up $5 or $10. I don’t care how poor you are. You’ve got $5.”

Me oh my, excerpts released from Edward Klein’s new unauthorized Obama bio, “The Amateur”, keep getting juicer and juicer.
Obama to Wright; ‘your speaking the “truth” will harm my campaign’.
(NY Post) –Edward Klein interviewed Wright, who told him Obama’s team tried to buy his silence.
‘Man, the media ate me alive,” Wright told me when we met in his office at Chicago’s Kwame Nkrumah Academy. “After the media went ballistic on me, I received an e-mail offering me money not to preach at all until the November presidential election.”
“Who sent the e-mail?” I asked Wright.
“It was from one of Barack’s closest friends.”
“He offered you money?”
“Not directly,” Wright said. “He sent the offer to one of the members of the church, who sent it to me.”
“How much money did he offer you?”
“One hundred and fifty thousand dollars,” Wright said.
“Did Obama himself ever make an effort to see you?”
“Yes,” Wright said. “Barack said he wanted to meet me in secret, in a secure place….
“Barack said, ‘I’m sorry you don’t see it the way I do. Do you know what your problem is?’ And I said, ‘No, what’s my problem?’ And he said, ‘You have to tell the truth.’ I said, ‘That’s a good problem to have. That’s a good problem for all preachers to have. That’s why I could never be a politician.’
“And he said, ‘It’s going to get worse if you go out there and speak. It’s really going to get worse.’
A quick refresher course on Jeremiah Wrights bile. Or as Obama said; “truth”:
America, vote the bamboozling, hoodwinking, sorry excuse for a US President –OUT.
Update: The very close friend of Obama who offered the bribe to Wright has been outed. Edward Klein told Sean Hannity it was Eric Whitaker.
“Fortunately, [the Obama's] have help from the media” How luxurious!
(Beltway Confidential) –In 2008, Rosen derided Republican attacks against Michelle Obama as an example as “stupid strategy.”
“You know essentially, you’ve taken on sort of the most sympathetic person in the candidate’s realm, the wife, who is taking care of the children, supporting the husband, doing everything she can because she loves him,” Rosen said on Anderson Cooper 360 according to a CNN transcript from May 19, 2008.
“Michelle Obama is a pretty terrific woman I have to say, and I think that attacking her is a dumb strategy on the Republican’s part,” Rosen added.

Let me be clear:
I campaigned against my “signature legislative achievement.”
The money quote:
If a mandate was the solution then we could try to solve homelessness by mandating everybody buy a house. The reason they don’t have a house is they don’t have the money.
I make note of the month and day since it was a mere five days before Obama tossed his hat into the 2008 presidential election ring. February 5, 2007 was on a Monday, and by the following Saturday; February 10, 2007 , Obama declared his candidacy for the 2008 presidential election.
I was digging through my archived election 2008 posts yesterday and came across this post dated April 23, 2008. So I thought to myself, why not do a repost of it and add some other archived Obama Wright material dating back to the 2008 election. Since Obama is running for a second term, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to remind people of the high level of esteem Obama held his “friend, mentor and pastor” [of 20 YEARS] the vitriolic, racist, Marxist Jeremiah Wright to.

And as I also previously reported on June 2, 2008 here, Obama found the “explicitly political aspect to the mission and message of Trinity …appealing”
(LA Times) Barack Obama: Portrait of a pragmatist
As a raw community organizer in Chicago in the ’80s, Obama preached reaching out to attain goals
And what was the “politically” based foundation of Jeremiah Wright’s “faith”, of which the “vision” of Trinity United Church of Christ was based on ?
Dr. Wright’s talking points (3.1.7) for Trinity United Church of Christ its Web site and the Black Value System (in response to Eric Rush’s comments (2.28.07) on the Hannity and Colmes show):
• One of the biggest gaps in knowledge that causes the kind of ignorance that you hear spouted by this man [Eric Rush] and those like him, has to do with the fact that these persons are completely ignorant when it comes to the Black religious tradition. The vision statement of Trinity United Church of Christ is based upon the systematized liberation theology that started in 1969 with the publication of Dr. James Cone’s book, Black Power and Black Theology.
Wright’s TUCC “Talking Points” are no longer available on TUCC’s website but here is the archived cached link.
And what did Dr. James Cone believe? Here is a sampling.
“Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community … Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love.
