Evidently Brandeis University is now a sharia zone. Free speech be damned! If a woman who “was personally subjected to genital mutilation, had to flee a forced marriage and is still enduring death threats.[for daring to speak the truth]” does not have the right to expose those very topics then who does? No one as far as CAIR (Council Of Islamic Relations) is concerned. Truth and the freedom of speech are the mortal enemies of CAIR and the insidious cult of islam, which is why islamofascist CAIR fights against them tooth and nail.
(Fox News Insider) –Brandeis University has abruptly yanked an honor for an advocate of women’s rights in the Muslim community.
‘Submission’ a short film by Dutch movie maker Theo van Gogh in association with Ayaan Hirsi Ali. The film deals with the oppression of women in many Muslim countries. Van Gogh was murdered by a Muslim in 2004 for making this film.
Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a Somali-born woman and U.S. citizen, is known for her efforts to advance women’s rights in communities in Islam. She was personally subjected to genital mutilation, had to flee a forced marriage and is still enduring death threats. She has most recently gained attention for her role in “Honor Diaries.”
Brandeis has withdrawn an honorary degree and an invitation to speak at commencement due to Ali’s detractors, who call her an Islamophobe. The Council on American-Islam Relations is one of the groups that has been vocal against Ali. The group has also pushed against “Honor Diaries.”
Ibrahim Hooper, of the unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terror-finance trial ] Council on American-Islam Relations, told Megyn Kelly that Ali says Islam itself must be defeated and Muslim schools in America should be shut down. He also said the message of “Honor Diaries” is “hate Muslims, hate Islam.”
“Frankly, I don’t think that Mr. Hooper speaks for Muslims, I don’t think that he speaks for Muslim women,” Ali said tonight on “The Kelly File.” [...]
Decision to withdraw award to human rights activist Ayaan Hirsi Ali ‘hypocritical’ in light of previous awards to hatemongers.
“The decision is a blatant contradiction of past-president Jehuda Reinhartz’s defense of the same award being given to Tony Kushner. When the anti-Israel Kushner was given an honorary degree, Reinhartz said, ‘Mr. Kushner is not being honored because he is a Jew, and he is not being honored for his political opinions. Brandeis is honoring him for his extraordinary achievements as one of this generation’s foremost playwrights, whose work is recognized in the arts and also addresses Brandeis’s commitment to social justice.’”
Similarly, Mael points out, “Hirsi Ali was not being honored for her views on Islam. She was being honored for her commitment to women’s rights and real justice.”
What’s more, Mael points out, Brandeis University has hosted several controversial anti-Israel speakers, including Sam Bahour, an activist who opposes any peace negotiations between the Palestinian Authority and Israel and who believes that Israel does not have the right to exist.
In a 2011 column in the Guardian Bahour wrote, “Israel [is] a settler, colonial, apartheid movement clinging to a racialist, exclusivist ideology. [The Palestinians] were correct to [reject Israel] at the outset of this conflict .”
The decision to rescind Ali’s honor was withdrawn following pressure from several groups, including most prominently the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which sent a letter to the university’s president, Dr. Frederik M. Lawrence, referring to her as a “notorious Islamophobe.”
“She is one of the worst of the worst of the Islam haters in America, not only in America but worldwide,” Ibrahim Hooper, a spokesman for the group, said in an interview on Tuesday. “I don’t assign any ill will to Brandeis. I think they just kind of got fooled a little bit.”
But CAIR itself has been accused of having links to extremist Islamist groups including the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas, and the group was directly linked by authorities to an infamous Hamas funding racket known as the Holy Land Foundation.
Mael said that the group played a crucial role in drumming up support for the petition to ban Ali, and that in fact “most of the signatories are from outside the university.”
“This is the same group that has been blocking screening of The Honor Diaries,” he pointed out, referring to CAIR’s controversial campaign to silence a film exposing domestic abuse within the Muslim community. [...]
CAIR holds itself out as America’s foremost Islamic civil rights organization. Under Sharia, however, the Western concept of civil rights does not exist. The analogy to Communist front organizations of an earlier era is striking. While pretending to advocate for freedom and to oppose discrimination, CAIR’s real purpose is to subvert the very society whose liberalism it cynically seeks to exploit.
EDIT: Megyn Kelly’s initial report which CAIR objected to.
Backlash grows as universities cancel or postpone “Honor Diaries” a film that is trying to bring attention to ‘honor violence’ inflicted upon women living under Islam — “systematic institutionalized misogyny”.
Watch the sparks fly between Human rights attorney Brooke Goldstein (SHE ROCKS!!!) and CAIR-Chicago’s Agnieszka Karoluk.
“We DON’T care if you’re offended, and we NEVER will. Get used to it.”
In his latest islam eviscerating rant, Pat Condell (once again) nails islam to the wall of reality:
Jyllands-Posten’s mohammed cartoons (Denmark)
Well, once again we see multiple violent tantrums from the religion of permanent offense. Some things never change do they. Once again we see Islam self-detonate, if you’ll pardon the expression. And show once again why it is about as welcome on this planet as an asteroid. Once again we see thousands of islamic nut cases take time out from beating their wives to show their sensitive side. How? By smashing up the towns they live in egged by clerical ignoramus’ whose motives are even lower than the literacy level of their followers. And, once again, we in the civilized world are being urged to censor ourselves out of respect for a religion that violates the human rights of half the people on the planet. And doubles as a political ideology indistinguishable from Nazism. It would be funny if it wasn’t so obscene. Or, should that be the other way around?
Lars Vilks’ mohammed dog (Sweden)
To call these riots infantile and imbecilic, is to give them a dignity they don’t deserve. They can only be described as islamic. Let me get this straight. We’re supposed to show tolerance and respect for a religion that doesn’t know the meaning for either word. And goes out of it’s way to prove it every day. We’re supposed to amend our values to accommodate a religion that accommodates nothing and nobody. Dream on people. It’s not going to happen.
Because with Islam it’s always a one-way street. We’ve learned that lesson the hard way. We can not afford any more tolerance and respect, we’ve been sucked dry. And we’ve become weary of manufactured grievance. It’s such a bore that now when we hear some bearded buffoon or some bag headed bimbo telling us how offended they are, we can’t even be bothered to laugh any more.
Not even when the Turkish prime minister hilariously demands that islamophobia now be made a crime against humanity. When given the evidence, there is a much stronger case for making islam a crime against humanity. Besides Turkey is already hypocritically guilty of one of the worst crimes against humanity in history –the Armenian genocide. A crime it doesn’t even have the balls to admit to.
Theo Van Gogh’s ‘Submission’ (Netherlands)
When muslims start showing the same level of outrage about things that are genuinely offensive like the thousands of women and girls who are murdered, mutilated and raped every year in their countries, then we might take them a bit more seriously. As it is, there is nothing on this planet less than deserving of sympathy or respect than muslim outrage. Indeed there is something deeply comical about it. It’s so contrived and so cringingly unselfaware, that it’s impossible to take seriously even if we wanted to. And nobody in their right mind wants to any more.
Geert Wilder’s ‘Fitna’ (Netherlands)
There was a time when islam was given the benefit of the doubt by many people in the west, but now we think it’s poison and we wish we’d never heard of it. Because twenty years of baseless grievance mongering and knee jerk offense has shown us this religion for what it really is. And now we don’t like it, we don’t trust it, and we are never going to respect it. And we don’t care how muslims feel about it. Everything’s an insult to this religion. Everything causes offense. Well, nobody gives a damn anymore people. You’ve done it to death. You’ve killed the goose that laid the golden egg. So now if you are an offended muslim, go stick your head in the oven for all we care.
Terry Jones quran burning (United States)
And if you think that if you keep up the violence, the west will eventually cave in, it’s not gonna happen. Even if the politicians want it to, the people won’t allow it. We’ll carry on speaking our minds openly and freely, because it’s our birthright and it can’t be taken away from us. It could only be given away and we are giving islam nothing, because islam gives us nothing. It’s a religion permanently on the take. Gimme, gimme, gimme, is all we ever hear. Give me respect even though I haven’t earned it. Give me special treatment or I will be offended and you will be a racist. Well, we are sick and tired of hearing it. We are sick and tired of islam. And we are sick and tired of the needless conflict and intimidation, that comes from this religion at every turn.
‘Innocence of Muslims’ (United States)
All week we’ve heard muslims telling us that we in the west need to understand how important the [their -ed.] prophet is to them. We do understand, and we don’t care. That’s the point. We don’t care now and we are never going to care. Get used to it. We don’t give a damn about your feelings. Our feelings are more important. Our feelings tell us that we are sick to the back teeth of hearing about your religion, so stick a sock in it. And no amount of violence is going to change a thing.
Charlie Hebdo’s mohammed cartoons (France)
The more you riot and scream and shout, the less we are going to listen. You’ll simply stiffen our resolve not to be bullied and pushed around, by a people whose values we don’t respect. Because you’ve given us no reason to respect them. And more to the point because you are incapable of giving us such a reason.
In short, we will not be told what we can and can not say.
Not by you. Not by anybody. Not now, not ever.
No matter how many flags you burn. No matter how many embassies you attack.
Free Speech will prevail. And you’ll suck it up and like it.
People have learned as they have learned everywhere in the West, that [Islam] is far more than just a religion. It is an invasive political supremacist ideology, that exploits religious freedom and cultural guilt to impose itself with constant demands for special treatment. Always backed by the implicit threat of conflict and violence.
In other words through cultural terrorism. So whether it’s prayer rooms crow barred into the workplace where they don’t belong, Muslims allowed to pray in the streets and block traffic, medical staff allowed to ignore hygiene rules, the police turning a blind eye to genital mutilation, universities letting jihadists recruit on campus, sharia courts dehumanizing women or the imposition of halal only food on the entire population without their knowledge or consent. Society it seems must always bow to the unreasonable demands of Islam. And anyone who dares to object is either vilified as racist or openly threatened with violence.
This is what the media should be saying about Islam if journalists had the guts to do their job and tell the truth. Because it is the truth and everybody knows it’s the truth.
Thanks to unwanted mass Islamic immigration there are parts of Europe where today where if you make it known that you are gay or Jewish for that matter, you are virtually asking to be physically attacked. It’s an indisputable fact that the more Muslims there are in a society, (not Asians –Muslims) the less safe it is likely to be for gay people or Jews or women or anyone attempting to exercise their fundamental right to freedom speech.
Mullah Ismael Sosaae in Iraqi-Kurdistan talked in a Friday sermon about the new bill against domestic violence that passed the parliament of Iraqi Kurdistan in June. This law also forbids the practice of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). Various clerics and members of Islamic groups started a campaign against this law and demand from the president of the Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) Mr. Massud Barzani not to sign the bill.
The mullah is one of the outspoken opponents of this bill. In his sermon he defends FGM as a Islamic practice of the Shafi’i law school. Additionally he defends the right of men to beat their women and children.
Translated excerpt regarding FGM:
Then they come to the issue of circumcision. They have no problems left except the issue of female circumcision in Kurdistan. The mothers and sisters of more than half of your party members were circumcised. This means that you insult your own grandmother. You insult your own mother. You accuse them of ignorance. You dishonour your dead grandfather and burn his coffin for allowing the circumcision of your mother. Circumcision is a tenant of Islamic law (sharia). (…) (This bill is) to satisfy the Jews who in the conference of the Jews in Beijing discussed that female circumcision should be banned. You obey their orders and disregard the Sharia of Allah (…).
They say if a mullah, a religious man, a father, a mother, a doctor or anyone else even mentions circumcision could be a good thing for women or if a woman feels uncomfortable and says that her mood was disturbed by that statement, she can complain to one of these organizations and agencies and they will take the mullah (…) to jail. (…) They can jail you for saying that circumcision is a good thing. The Imam Shafi’i (most Iraqi-Kurds belong to the Shafi’i law school) said circumcision is good! Aren’t you following his denomination? Didn’t the KRG president say that he is a Shafi’i? Your denomination says FGM is good, and that is why I am saying it is good. If you are honest in your denomination then don’t accept this discussion to be held in the parliament. Imam Shafi’i is one of those who say that FGM is an obligation, that girls and women should be circumcised (…)
If I get asked about the religious ruling on FGM I must keep my silence and not dare to open my mouth. I must request to avoid this subject. As soon as I utter that FGM is good then they can arrest me. (…) If you don’t accept this Mr. President you are the one who receives the project. You might say that you don’t approve of the MPs. The people will love you for doing that. (…)
No longer should they ridicule our religion and believes and honours. We have made you president, you have the parliament and the oil and the money and no one is bothering you, why don’t you leave our religion and honour intact?
