WASHINGTON (AP) — AP source: HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius resigning after rocky health care law rollout.

Developing…

UPDATE:

WASHINGTON (AP) — Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is resigning from the Obama administration after the rocky rollout of President Barack Obama’s signature health care law, a White House official said Thursday.
……
The official said Obama was nominating Sylvia Mathews Burwell, the director of the Office of Management and Budget, to replace Sebelius. The official was not authorized to discuss Sebelius’ resignation ahead of the formal announcement and requested anonymity.

But Sebelius’ relationship with the White House frayed during last fall’s rollout of the insurance exchanges that are at the center of the sweeping overhaul. The president and his top advisers said they were frustrated by what they considered to be a lack of information from HHS over the extent of the website troubles.

Thrilled the lying hag is no longer HHS Secretary, but I’m Still waiting on the Sebelius perp walk.

Gird your loins America, for Obama’s bag of tricks overflows.

Obama Regime’s HHS Seeking “Social Media Analytic Tool” To Access “Full Twitter Historical Data”

February 20, 2014 at 11:31 am

Obama Big BrotherThe Washington Free Beacon reports:

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is seeking a “social media analytic tool” that will give the government access to “full Twitter historical data,” according to a ¹solicitation released on Tuesday.

The agency is seeking feedback for a “possible future acquisition to provide near real time social media analysis.” HHS said it wants to use the tool for “ongoing monitoring” of public health issues.

HHS provides a long list of requirements, including “access to real-time social media posts,” and “access to full Twitter firehose.”

The agency requires an archive that goes back at least five years of “full Twitter historical data.” The government will also need “access to multiple account log-ins,” “real-time alerting,” the “ability to construct lengthy Boolean searches,” and a function that can filter search results based on the location of a Twitter user.

Under “additional attributes that we would find useful,” HHS said the “ability to export full data into excel or another spreadsheet program” would be beneficial.

No worries it is all for the ‘common good’:

HHS said it would use the social media tool for public health concerns and emergencies such as Superstorm Sandy. “In the midst of an event we want to know when hospitals and/or nursing homes are evacuating patients,” HHS said under “scenarios of how we would utilize this tool.”

Under Obama Households On Food Stamps Reach All Time HIGH & Individuals On Food Stamps SKYROCKET

January 22, 2014 at 10:59 am

“Forward” into the abyss of despair and dependence! Thanks food stamp President Obama!

Note that since the Obama reign began in 2009, the number of dependent households have increased by 51.3% and individuals on food stamps have increased by 42.2%.
Food Stamp Households-All Time High-Chart

(CNSNews.com) — A record 20% of American households, one in five, were on food stamps in 2013, according to data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

The numbers also show there was a record number of individuals on food stamps in 2013 and that the cost of the program, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), was at an all-time high.
……
In 2013, according to the Census Bureau, there were 115,013,000 households, which means the that the households on food stamps–23,052,388 households–equaled 20.0% of all households.

In the past five years alone, the number of households on food stamps has greatly increased. In fiscal year 2009 – Oct. 1, 2008 through Sept. 30, 2009 — the number of households on food stamps was 15,232,115. Five years later, in 2013, that amount had increased by 51.3%  to reach 23,052,388 households.

Individual Food Stamps-CHART-2

In 2013, the monthly average for individuals on food stamps hit an all-time-high of 47,636,084, according to the USDA, an increase of 1,027,012 over the  46,609,072 individuals who were participating in the program in 2012.

That number has dramatically increased from five years ago. In fiscal year 2009, the number of individuals participating in the food stamp program was 33,489,975. In 2013, the number was 47,636,084, an increase of 42.2%.

DEPLORABLE! Obamacare Website HealthCareGov Is In Violation Of Federal Security Law

December 14, 2013 at 12:30 pm

hacker

Time to pull the plug on the criminal Regime’s “hacker’s wet dream”; Obamacare, otherwise deceitfully known as the ‘Affordable Care Act’.

Charles C. Johnson of The Daily Caller reports:

The bureaucracy tasked with Obamacare implementation may be violating a law that requires government agencies to keep private information safe.

Under the the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), the Department of Health and Human Services’ Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is required to have an “Authority to Operate,” or ATO. In order to receive an ATO, new information tech systems must perform a set of tests, including “Security Control Assessments” (SCA).

But according to CMS’s 2014 budget request, no such security assessment took place. The Federal Healthcare Marketplace website was rolled out without full end-to-end testing.

Indeed, the large number of new systems created because of Obamacare created a backlog of testing. CMS could not complete its required security. Failing to complete the required means no ATO, and hence a violation of federal law under FISMA.

FISMA was enacted in 2002. Under FISMA, federal agencies are required: “to develop, document, and implement an agency-wide program to provide information security for the information and information systems that support the operations and assets of the agency, including those provided or managed by another agency, contractor, or other source.”

Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services is responsible for the oversight and implementation of the Federal Healthcare Marketplace website and associated systems.

Documents obtained by The Daily Caller reveal the federal violations. [...]

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (center) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (right) celebrate the start of the Affordable Care Act during an event on Oct. 1. The government believes that by Saturday, HealthCare.gov will be able to handle 800,000 visitors a day.

The burning question is why if Obamacare (as it has been portrayed) is the end all, be all, sunshine and rainbows cure all for American’s health insurance woes???? Because it is a toxic sugar coated crap sandwich, that’s why.

Washington (CNN) – Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, one of Obamacare’s architects and staunchest supporters, is also the only top congressional leader to exempt some of his staff from having to buy insurance through the law’s new exchanges.

Reid is the exception among the other top congressional leaders. GOP House Speaker John Boehner, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell have all directed their staffs to join the exchange, their aides said.

In the charged atmosphere surrounding Obamacare, Reid’s decision only gives Republicans more ammo to attack Democrats already suffering politically from the law’s botched rollout.

In September, Reid told reporters, “Let’s stop these really juvenile political games — the one dealing with health care for senators and House members and our staff. We are going to be part of exchanges, that’s what the law says and we’ll be part of that.”

……
“I’m sure that regular Americans who just lost their insurance will feel comforted to know that Senator Reid’s staff gets to keep their government plan,” a senior GOP Senate aide said. [...]

“It is the greatest fraud in modern American history……This is an attack on the American system from within. That’s exactly what it was. If this is not an impeachable offense, then what is?”
Listen:

“If this is not an impeachable offense, then what is? “I have a question for you, it is a perfectly legitimate question. This man and his party have destroyed healthcare for millions of Americans. You folks are not gonna get it back unless this entire system is withdrawn. Millions more of you are gonna fall under the same trap. Remember, he’s talking about one year to get them through the midterm elections. Millions of you who work for larger businesses–50 or more employees–you’re next, tens of millions of you.

This is the greatest scam in modern American history. I talked about it last week. It is the greatest fraud in modern American history. There’s never been a Ponzi scheme like it. There’s never been a corporate crime like it–never, ever before.

So let me put it to you this way: if this isn’t an impeachable offense, then what is? He lied repeatedly. He schemed repeatedly. His entire party did it. This is an attack on the American system from within. That’s exactly what it was. If this is not an impeachable offense, then what is?”

And Mr. Chairman, I appreciate that. That’s a strong commitment. It’s clear in the bill, I appreciate the strong commitment on your part and the president to make sure that if you have your insurance you can keep it. That’s the bottom line for me. Roll Call: House Approves Keep Your Health Plan Act of 2013 #Obamacare Insurance Fix 261-157 39 Dems Crossed Party Line Obama Vows Veto

(Fox) –The House on Friday approved a bill to let insurance companies sell health plans that had previously been canceled due to ObamaCare regulations, a day after President Obama moved unilaterally to fix the problem.

The bill passed 261-157. Thirty-nine Democrats crossed over to support the GOP-backed legislation.

The bill would go a step further than the plan Obama announced on Thursday, by allowing insurance companies to sell the old plans to customers who previously had them, as well as new customers, for another year. Obama’s plan would only apply to those customers enrolled in the plans before the cancellation notices went out.

But Republicans, in bringing the bill to the floor on Friday, raised the broader concern that Obama might not have the authority to make those changes on his own. House Speaker John Boehner said he’s “highly skeptical that they can do this administratively.”

Further, sponsor Rep. Fred Upton, R-Mich., questioned whether Obama could simply reverse course a few weeks or months down the road. Upton told Fox News that his bill is a “better answer — because who knows how his executive order is going to be tested?”

The White House has already vowed to veto the House bill, suggesting it goes too far. Before the vote, Republicans turned away a Democratic alternative that would have pared back the GOP bill. [...]
