(Memri)–On January 2, 2012, via Twitter, jihadists debated the issue of the appropriate response to a comic book biography of the Prophet Muhammad published this week by the French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo.

The suggestions included: killing France’s ambassadors, just as the “manly” Libyan fighters killed the U.S. ambassador in Benghazi; carrying out operations similar to 9/11, London’s July 7, 2005 bombings, and Madrid’s March 11, 2004 bombings, because only attacks of this kind would deter and defeat the “crusaders”; carrying out assassinations; conducting suicide bombings outside the French Information Ministry building; and holding demonstrations outside French embassies, especially in Egypt, because it has [allegedly] been proven that the Egyptian public can sway the entire Arab public.

It was also suggested that Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) kill the hostages it is holding, and that anyone who can kill a French national do so without hesitation.

PARIS (AFP)— A French magazine, which sparked international protests and saw its offices firebombed after it printed cartoons mocking Mohammed, on Wednesday published a “halal” cartoon biography of Islam’s founder.

The editor of Charlie Hebdo weekly insists that “The Life of Mohammed”, whose cover shows a goofy-looking prophet leading a camel through the desert, is an educational work prepared by a Franco-Tunisian sociologist.
“It is a biography authorised by Islam since it was edited by Muslims,” said Stephane Charbonnier, who was also the illustrator of the book which comes complete with academic footnotes.

“I don’t think higher Muslim minds could find anything inappropriate,” said Charbonnier, whose magazine has repeatedly enraged some Muslims with satirical depictions of the prophet, including showing him naked.

He said the idea for the comic book came to him in 2006 when a newspaper in Denmark published cartoons of Mohammed, later republished by Charlie Hebdo, that sparked angry protests across the Muslim world.

In September Charlie Hebdo published cartoons of a naked Mohammed as violent protests were taking place in several countries over a low-budget film, titled “Innocence of Muslims”, which was made in the United States and insulted the prophet.

French schools, consulates and cultural centres in 20 Muslim countries were briefly closed along with embassies for fear of retaliatory attacks.

In 2011 Charlie Hebdo’s offices were hit by a firebomb and its website pirated after publishing an edition titled “Charia Hebdo” featuring several Mohammed cartoons.

Charbonnier, who has received death threats, lives under police protection.

Imran Firasat faces criminal charges and deportation from Spain. He is a Pakistani ex-Muslim who was welcomed into Spain for protection from Islamic violence. As a result of his speaking out against Islam and revealing the violent nature of the religion, his co-producing with Stand Up America Now of the film called The Innocent Prophet, and because he converted from Islam to Christianity, he faces certain death if Spain sends him back to Pakistan. This is again a result of Western Society bowing to the fear and intimidation of Islam and shows the very nature of Islam.

Spain is citing Penal Code 510 as a reason to prosecute Imran. This Code refers to inciting or provoking hatred or violence, which Imran has not done. Spain’s Ministry of Foreign affairs has threatened to revoke Imran’s asylum status, stating that his youtube, The Innocent Prophet, is “destabilizing” because of the “extreme indignation and sensitivity” of the world’s Muslims.

These unjust threats by the Spanish Government show the very importance of our standing up against a brutal totalitarian system of religion and government called Sharia. Under Sharia, apostates and those who are seen to insult Islam deserve death. Let us act now, before our Western society becomes a victim of the very violence of Islam that we are attempting to fight.

Dear friends

Yesterday I found the news in media about high terror alert in Belgium over the movie “The Innocent Prophet” which I planned to release on 14th December 2012.

Behind making this movie my soul objective was to reveal the other side of reality of Muhammad and Islam, which I think, is a noble cause for the humanity and is also my right of freedom of expression. But I never had intentions to incite violence or offend religious sentiments deliberately. I don’t want people to have fear in their hearts or governments to apply high terror alert in their countries because of me. I don´t want to be remembered as a man who is responsible for loss of lives and properties.

That is why I have decided to postpone temporarily the release of movie until I show it first to the authorities and get the assurance that there is nothing in this movie which doesn´t fall under the right of freedom of expression and that my movie will not cause any kind of loss to humanity. The necessary modification will be also made if requested by the authorities.

But the delay doesn´t mean that I am afraid of Islamic violence, neither have I lost my right of freedom of expression. It´s all about the respect which I have in my heart towards Europe which is my family, and my deep love for Spain which is my home. I apologize to the Belgian people for the inconvenience they are facing because of my movie plan. I assure them that I will never do anything which hurt them.

But on the other hand they should also understand that if we lose our right of freedom of expression, we lose our democracy and western values.

I will always stand firmly with my opinion that Islam is an extreme danger to the society and we should make aware people about its whole reality, but of course not on the price of human lives. Well, once again we see multiple violent tantrums from the religion of permanent offense. Some things never change do they. Once again we see Islam self-detonate, if you’ll pardon the expression. And show once again why it is about as welcome on this planet as an asteroid. Once again we see thousands of islamic nut cases take time out from beating their wives to show their sensitive side. How? By smashing up the towns they live in egged by clerical ignoramus’ whose motives are even lower than the literacy level of their followers. And, once again, we in the civilized world are being urged to censor ourselves out of respect for a religion that violates the human rights of half the people on the planet. And doubles as a political ideology indistinguishable from Nazism. It would be funny if it wasn’t so  obscene. Or, should that be the other way around?

To call these riots infantile and imbecilic, is to give them a dignity they don’t deserve. They can only be described as islamic. Let me get this straight. We’re supposed to show tolerance and respect for a religion that doesn’t know the meaning for either word. And goes out of it’s way to prove it every day. Besides Turkey is already hypocritically guilty of one of the worst crimes against humanity in history –the Armenian genocide. A crime it doesn’t even have the balls to admit to.

When muslims start showing the same level of outrage about things that are genuinely offensive like the  thousands of women and girls who are murdered, mutilated and raped every year in their countries, then we might take them a bit more seriously. As it is, there is nothing on this planet less than deserving of sympathy or respect than muslim outrage. Indeed there is something deeply comical about it. (Todd Starnes – Fox News) –Religious groups are blasting President Obama for not condemning am anti-Christian art display set to appear in New York City and one Republican lawmaker said he is “fed up with the administration’s double standard and religious hypocrisy.

“Piss Christ,” once branded as a “deplorable, despicable display of vulgarity,” will be displayed at the Edward Tyler Nahem Gallery in Manhattan on Thursday. The artwork features a “photograph of the crucifix submerged in the artist’s urine.”

The artwork debuted in 1989 and was funded through prize money provided by the National Endowment for the Arts. [taxpayer funded -ed.] The art gallery hosting the retrospective salute to Andres Serrano is privately owned.

Religious groups and some lawmakers have already started sounding off – and making comparisons to the controversy over a recent anti-Muslim film. The low budget movie “Innocence of Muslims” sparked violent and deadly clashes across the globe.

It also brought strong rebukes, condemnations and apologies from President Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and a host of administration officials.

The administration tried to have the film removed from YouTube – but Google rebuffed their request. The State Dept. spent $70,000 on a Pakistani television advertisement rebuking the film. And the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff personally telephoned a Christian minister in Florida to ask him to withdraw his support of the film.

Rep. Michael Grimm (R, C-NY) wants to know why President Obama hasn’t denounced the exhibit and said he’s fed up with what he called the administration’s “religious hypocrisy.”

“The Obama administration’s hypocrisy and utter lack of respect for the religious beliefs of Americans has reached an all-time high,” Grimm told Fox News. “I call on President Obama to stand up for America’s values and beliefs and denounce the ‘Piss Christ’ that has offended Christians at home and abroad.”

So will the Obama Administration condemn the anti-Christian art display? Will they air a television ad denouncing the exhibit? Will the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff ask the gallery to cancel the exhibit?

The White House did not return calls seeking comment. Neither did the Pentagon.

The State Dept. referred to a previous statement Clinton made in reference to the anti-Islamic film.

“America’s commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation,” Clinton said. “And as you know, we are home to people of all religions, many of whom came to this country seeking the right to exercise their own religion, including, of course, millions of Muslims. And we have the greatest respect for people of faith.”

Americans of Christian faith take note of how the statement mentions Muslims and NOT Christians. Yet that is the official response. For the state dept to respond to the inquiry with the statement they released bowing to Islam, is not only a blatantly transparent dodge, it is an egregious insult. And conspicuously absent is any reference to ‘free speech’….what…so…ever.

Grimm said the lack of response from the White House is unacceptable.

“Perhaps they’ve forgotten the controversy that surrounds this deplorable piece depicting a crucifix submerged in the artist’s urine,” Grimm said. “It outraged Christians in American and throughout the world.”

Grimm, who is Catholic, said he found the artwork to be vulgar and offensive, “just as many in the Islamic world found ‘Innocence of Muslims’ to be highly offensive.”

“Like most Americans, I condemn both yet remain tolerant as the First Amendment demands,” he said. “Unfortunately, this administration has yet to echo these views in regards to the religiously offensive ‘art’ here at home.”

Official Obama admin. statement on the recently published Charlie Hebdo Muhammad cartoons via Obama press secretary Jay Carney:

“We are aware that a French magazine published cartoons featuring a figure resembling the prophet Muhammad, and obviously we have questions about the judgment of publishing something like this,” Carney told reporters during a midday press briefing at the White House.“We know these images will be deeply offensive to many and have the potential be be inflammatory,” Carney said in a prepared statement.

Again not a single reference to ‘free speech’.

Lastly, this phrase is screaming for correction.

If any violence occurs in the light of the publishing of these Hebdo Mo Toons, it will prove (once again) one thing and one thing only. There are Muslims who are not fit to live in civilized society, since they do NOT respect basic FREEDOMS. If we all thought and acted like frothing muslims over such things as cartoon offense, chaos would reign. If we all bowed as they demand of us, the west would be transformed into a cluster of Islamic hell holes resembling the 7th century.

Here’s the scoop people. Even if not one American (or any non-Muslim for that matter) [ever] spoke out against Islam, it would remain hell bent on our destruction.

Freedom is the ultimate enemy of Islam.

Our very existence as a free republic, with a demographic majority of non-Muslims offends Islam. No [other] provocation is necessary.

Not standing up to the Muslim bullies is fueling their fire. Their goal is to have the entire globe submit to Islam. We need a united front. Not yellow bellied, weak kneed appeasing cowards bowing down or pandering apologists. Or the submission will continue down a path that, trust me, no matter how liberal you are –you do not want to take.

It is a dead end road.
Be warned.

Truth is our ultimate weapon.

Wield it.

The new tolerance is to be tolerant of the intolerant. And I’ll have none of it.

(Reuters) –”We have the impression that it’s officially allowed for Charlie Hebdo to attack the Catholic far-right but we cannot poke fun at fundamental Islamists,” said editor Stephane Charbonnier, who drew the front-page cartoon.

“It shows the climate – everyone is driven by fear, and that is exactly what this small handful of extremists who do not represent anyone want – to make everyone afraid, to shut us all in a cave,” he told Reuters.

Has Jyllands-Posten insulted and disrespected Islam? It certainly didn’t intend to. But what does respect mean? When I visit a mosque, I show my respect by taking off my shoes. I follow the customs, just as I do in a church, synagogue or other holy place.

But if a believer demands that I, as a nonbeliever, observe his taboos in the public domain, he is not asking for my respect, but for my submission. And that is incompatible with a secular democracy.

Mr. Charbonnier said the weekly published the cartoons in defense of freedom of the press, adding that the images “would shock only those who wanted to be shocked.”

Gérard Biard, the magazine’s editor in chief, said: “We’re a newspaper that respects French law. Now, if there’s a law that is different in Kabul or Riyadh, we’re not going to bother ourselves with respecting it.”

This week as every other week, Mr. Biard insisted, “We’ve simply commented on the news.” The caricatures are meant to satirize the video that has stirred violence across the Muslim world, he said, and to denounce that violence as absurd.

“What are we supposed to do when there’s news like this?” Mr. Biard asked. “Are we supposed to not do that news?”

In an editorial on Wednesday, Le Monde, France’s newspaper of record, defended the magazine’s right to publish what it pleases, within the limits of French law. But it called the most recent caricatures “in poor taste, or even appalling” and questioned the “sense of responsibility of their authors and editors.”

Mr. Charbonnier [Charlie Hebdo's editorial director] held firm.

“I’m sorry for the people who are shocked when they read Charlie Hedbo,” Mr. Charbonnier said. “But let them save 2.50 euros and not read it. That’s the only thing I have to say.

“They can’t hold us responsible for the closure of the embassies, they can’t hold us responsible for the violence and the deaths,” he said. “We’re not provoking anything.” Religious radicals can use “any pretext to start the fire,” he said.

(Telegraph) –Fears that a wave of anger in the Islamic world could spread to France mounted on Tuesday as it emerged that Charlie Hebdo, a satirical magazine was planning to publish cartoons caricaturing the Prophet Mohammed.

The magazine confirmed that its latest edition contains several cartoons featuring Mohammed that the publication’s editor said would “shock those who will want to be shocked.”

Charlie Hebdo’s latest move was greeted with immediate calls from political and religious leaders for the media to act responsibly and avoid inflaming the current situation.

The magazine’s editor, originally a cartoonist who uses the name Charb, denied he was being deliberately provocative at a delicate time.

“The freedom of the press, is that a provocation?” he said. “I’m not asking strict Muslims to read Charlie Hebdo, just like I wouldn’t go to a mosque to listen to speeches that go against everything I believe.”

Around 10,000 people participated in the main rally organised on The Mall by the Tehreek Hurmat-i-Rasool (THR). The participants marched from Nila Gumbad to Masjid-i-Shuhada on The Mall. Despite a ban on rallies on The Mall, the road remained blocked for vehicular traffic from noon to 6pm.

The rally was addressed by Jamatud Dawa chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, THR head Ameer Hamza, JD leader Hafiz Abdul Rehman Makki, Pakistan Muslim League (Zia) head Ijazul Haq, Jamaat Ulema Islam-Sami (JUI-S) leader Asim Makhdoom and Jamaat Ahle Hadith ameer Hafiz Abdul Ghaffar Ropari.

One of the participants of the rally, Abdullah Ismail, passed away after he was taken to Mayo Hospital. Witnesses said he had complained of feeling unwell from the smoke from US flags burnt at the rally.

I repeat, breaching an embassy is an ACT of WAR.

KHARTOUM, Sept 14 (Reuters) – Sudanese police fired teargas on Friday to stop demonstrators approaching the U.S. embassy outside Khartoum in a protest against a film that demeaned the Prophet Mohammad, a Reuters witness said.

More than 5,000 protesters arrived in busses and cars to gather on the main street near the heavily-fortified embassy compound. They started setting several fires on a square near the embassy, which is set away from the main street.

(Reuters) – Sudanese clambered over the walls of the U.S. embassy compound in Khartoum on Friday in a protest at a film that insults the Prophet Mohammad, and embassy guards fired warning shots, a Reuters witness said.

Protesters hosted an Islamic flag at the U.S. embassy compound after breaching an outer security wall, the witness said.

One person was left lying in a pool of blood after being struck by a police car and police withdrew from the area shortly after the incident, the witness added.

Unconfirmed reports are coming in that the buses were provided to the riot crowd and that they may have been provided by the state of Sudan:

This is quite worrying. It appears that after prayers buses and trucks were on hand to transport people to the areas I have already identified.

We have just had afternoon prayers and again if you stand at the top of my school (I am the principal of Unity High School, famous for the Mohammed the Teddy Bear case).

You can see people being picked up by trucks and buses around the mosques. They may be going home, of course, and the streets are as quiet as ever on a typical Friday, save a few sirens. However that kind of organisation is not what I am used to here so I remain concerned.

I think we will know better after evening prayers but I am considering closing the school as a precaution for tomorrow

Apparently you could see the smoke from the German embassy from the school earlier, as we are quite close to it, but thankfully that seems to have died down.

Sorry this is somewhat disjointed – I am mainly reporting on what I have been told – I have no intention of going out and finding for myself!

(Reuters) – Tunisian protesters jumped over the wall of the U.S. embassy compound in Tunis on Friday and broke windows and set fire to trees, a Reuters witness said.

A large fire could be seen burning inside the compound. Police fired teargas at the hundreds of protesters who were demonstrating at the embassy.
