Had it been my child, the conversation would not have progressed as far as to whether she would be wearing a scarf –or not. I would have drawn the line at the mandatory mosque trip. But good on those parents who took a stand.

(Daily Mail) –A Roman Catholic schoolgirl has been labelled a truant after she refused to wear a headscarf during a compulsory trip to a mosque.

Amy Owen, 14, and fellow girl pupils at a Catholic secondary school were told to cover their heads and wear trousers or leggings out of respect for their Muslim hosts.

But when her mother objected, saying she did not want her daughter to ‘dress as a Muslim’, she received a sternly worded warning letter from the headmaster saying she had no choice.

He added: ‘There are two reasons for these visits. One is that the scheme of work in religious studies REQUIRES children to have knowledge and understanding of other world religions.

‘The second is that the school is REQUIRED to promote tolerance respect and understanding. This is known as community cohesion.

‘A failure to do this could result in an unwelcome inspection judgement. None of us would relish that.

‘Whilst I may not require you to pay for this I must require your child to participate.’

Amy’s mother Michelle Davies refused to back down and, after being told no teachers would be back at school to keep an eye on her daughter, she kept her at home, citing religious objections – as did as many as ten other families.

Yesterday, after the school acted on its threat to class Amy’s absence as truancy, Miss Davies accused it of discriminating against Christian pupils.

‘It’s like they’re putting a gun to your head – either you go to a mosque, or you’re marked down as an unauthorised absence on your record – that’s it no two ways about it,’ the 34-year-old said.

Parents were asked to make a £3 payment towards the Year 9 trip to the Al Rahma Mosque in Liverpool last month, and an 11-point dress and behaviour code from the mosque was circulated.

Miss Davies, a home help, of Ellesmere Port, added: ‘There are some parts of religious education lessons that children who are Jehovah’s Witnesses don’t have to attend because that’s part of their religion, and the fact is Amy is Catholic and not a Muslim.’

(NY Daily News) –The attempted arrest of an allegedly hate-mongering teen aboard a Brooklyn subway quickly turned into a wild showdown between cops and a roiled mob, according to sources and video obtained by the Daily News.

The melee began when suspect Stephan Stowe, 17, and a group of eight friends approached a Jewish man wearing a yarmulke aboard a Brooklyn-bound 3 train just before 3 p.m. Monday, police sources said Wednesday.

“Assalamu Alaikum,” Stowe said to the man, using a common greeting among Muslims that means, “Peace be with you,” court documents allege.

When the man ignored the greeting, Stowe allegedly became combative.

“You think you’re better than me?” the teen allegedly said. “We are cousins.”

“No we’re not,” The man shot back, and told Stowe to leave him alone.

The suspect then started hurling ethnic slurs and called the man disrespectful, according to court papers.

As the tension aboard the train escalated, the man whipped out his cell phone and took a photo of Stowe, who then snatched the phone and deleted the photo, police sources said.

“I’m going to kill you right now,” Stowe said, according to cops and court records. He then swore at the man, according to cops and court records, and in an apparent reference to the Holocaust added, “They should have killed all of you.”

(Todd Starnes) A U.S. Army training instructor listed Evangelical Christianity and Catholicism as examples of religious extremism along with Al Qaeda and Hamas during a briefing with an Army Reserve unit based in Pennsylvania, Fox News has learned.

The incident occurred during an Army Reserve Equal Opportunity training brief on extremism. Topping the list is Evangelical Christianity. Other organizations listed included Catholicism, Al Qaeda, Hamas, the Ku Klux Klan, Sunni Muslims, and Nation of Islam.

The military also listed “Islamophobia” as a form of religious extremism.

“We find this offensive to have Evangelical Christians and the Catholic Church to be listed among known terrorist groups,” said Ron Crews, executive director of the Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty. “It is dishonorable for any U.S. military entity to allow this type of wrongheaded characterization.”

The incident was made public by a soldier who attended the briefing. He asked for copies of the presentation and sent them to the Chaplain Alliance.

“He considers himself an evangelical Christian and did not appreciate being classified with terrorists,” Crews told Fox News. “There was a pervasive attitude in the presentation that anything associated with religion is an extremist.”

“In the notes it was clearly stated that the presenter was not a subject matter expert, and produced the material after conducting Internet research,” [Army spokesman George] Wright said.

So if the presenter was not an expert, what were they doing presenting the material, Crews asked. [...]

“It was produced by an individual without anyone in the chain of command’s knowledge or permission.”

(Christian News Network) –Ashtabula, Ohio — A 25-year-old Muslim man shot and killed his father at the conclusion of a service at a Christian church on Sunday, claiming that it was the “will of Allah.”

Reports state that Reshad Riddle walked into Hiawatha Church of Christ in Ashatbula, Ohio, approached his father, 52-year-old Richard Riddle, and pulled the trigger. Autopsy reports note that Riddle died instantly from the gunshot.

Eyewitnesses state that following the shooting, Reshad walked to the front of the room near the pulpit and began yelling about “the will of Allah.” Pastors and members alike feared that the situation might turn into a massacre.

Minutes after the incident, police arrived on the scene and took Riddle into custody. Ashtabula Police Chief Robert Stell advised that a motive has yet to be determined.

However, according to reports, Riddle has an extensive criminal past, including a charge of felonious assault from 2007, when he was accused of trying to cut his girlfriend’s throat with a knife. He appeared in court on Monday with his hands and feet shackled. He told the court that he wanted to be treated fairly and again spoke of Allah.

(Reuters) – Arab-American groups have sharply criticized a Coca-Cola Super Bowl ad depicting an Arab walking through the desert with a camel, and one group said it would ask the beverage giant to change it before CBS airs the game on Sunday before an expected audience of more than 100 million U.S. viewers.

“Why is it that Arabs are always shown as either oil-rich sheiks, terrorists, or belly dancers?” said Warren David, president of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, or ADC.

Coca-Cola released an online teaser of the commercial last week, showing the Arab walking through a desert. He soon sees cowboys, Las Vegas showgirls and a motley crew fashioned after the marauders of the apocalyptic “Mad Max” film race by him to reach a gigantic bottle of Coke.

In its ad, Coke asks viewers to vote online on which characters should win the race. The online site does not allow a vote for the Arab character.

“The Coke commercial for the Super Ball is racist, portraying Arabs as backward and foolish Camel Jockeys, and they have no chance to win in the world,” Imam Ali Siddiqui, president of the Muslim Institute for Interfaith Studies, said in an email.

Well, if the sandal fits…

“What message is Coke sending with this?” asked Abed Ayoub, ADC’s director of legal and policy affairs. “By not including the Arab in the race, it is clear that the Arab is held to a different standard when compared to the other characters in the commercial,” he said.

It is racist to portray an Arab as a bystander dontcha know…

The ADC garnered attention back in 1992 when it complained that lyrics in the Walt Disney animated film “Aladdin” were racist.

Ayoub said the commercial could harm Coke’s business with the Arab community.

“Coke should understand and respect their consumers and have a better understanding of the market they are sharing,” he Ayoub.

The company has a large market share in the Middle East and North Africa, he noted, and many convenience stores and other retail outlets in the United States that offer Coke are owned by Arab-Americans.

So if a Coke Super Bowl ad was set in a convenience store with an Arab at the counter it would not be racist? Not bloody likely.

Stereotypes exist because they reflect reality.

Because some things are more important than others. And that is far more important than an actual enemy within, the very enemy whom the ADC turned a blind eye to.

(FreedomWorks) –When a government oversteps its limitations, citizens will sometimes grumble or gripe. When it’s the American government overstepping the bounds of the Constitution, Americans band together and take it a little more seriously.

When local governments tried to stomp on Chick-Fil-A’s right to free speech, a grassroots movement organized a day to support them. Americans swarmed to the restaurants on  Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day, shattering sales records. A similar event was planned to support Papa John’s Pizza after owner John Schattner was realistic about the ramifications of Obamacare. Now, the government is treading on the religious beliefs, and ultimately the first amendment rights of business owners, and Americans are poised to step up to the plate again.

As Christians, the Green family who own Hobby Lobby are unable to provide the morning-after pill as part of their healthcare coverage without violating their religious beliefs. As that coverage is required under Obamacare, this conflict has set off a legal battle that still rages on. In order to comply with their religious beliefs, the Greens could be out up to $1.3 million per day in fines. That would be more than $40 million this month alone.

Fortunately, the American people have their backs. This Saturday, January 5th, has been appointed as the day to support Hobby Lobby with our wallets. It is getting costly to take a stand against the overreaching government, however, we can pitch in to show our support to business owners who are willing to do so and to show the government that these businesses do not stand alone. Our Constitution must be defended.

Update: Tens of thousands pledge to participate

(LifeNews) –Tens of thousands of Americans have committed to support the Christian crafts store Hobby Lobby on January 5 after courts have refused to issued an ruling stopping the Obama HHS mandate.

Hobby Lobby will incur $1.3 million in fines each day from the Obama administration for not following the mandate, which forces companies to play for birth control and drugs that may cause abortions for their employees. To support the company, one supporter has launched a new effort, that has quickly gone viral, to patronize the business.

Organizer Joe Grabowski told LifeNews: “Inspired by the “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day” promoted this past August by Governor Mike Huckabee, a similar grassroots initiative has cropped up in the past few days at www.StandWithHobbyLobby.com. The Facebook-driven campaign has already collected more than 18,000 people who have pledged to shop at the store on Saturday.”

“On Saturday, January 5th, all Americans who value freedom of religion and oppose the HHS Mandate’s unfair impositions upon religious individuals and corporate entities are called upon to show their support for Hobby Lobby by shopping either at their local retail Hobby Lobby store or online,” he said. Imran Firasat faces criminal charges and deportation from Spain. He is a Pakistani ex-Muslim who was welcomed into Spain for protection from Islamic violence. As a result of his speaking out against Islam and revealing the violent nature of the religion, his co-producing with Stand Up America Now of the film called The Innocent Prophet, and because he converted from Islam to Christianity, he faces certain death if Spain sends him back to Pakistan. This is again a result of Western Society bowing to the fear and intimidation of Islam and shows the very nature of Islam.

Spain is citing Penal Code 510 as a reason to prosecute Imran. This Code refers to inciting or provoking hatred or violence, which Imran has not done. Spain’s Ministry of Foreign affairs has threatened to revoke Imran’s asylum status, stating that his youtube, The Innocent Prophet, is “destabilizing” because of the “extreme indignation and sensitivity” of the world’s Muslims.

These unjust threats by the Spanish Government show the very importance of our standing up against a brutal totalitarian system of religion and government called Sharia. Under Sharia, apostates and those who are seen to insult Islam deserve death. Let us act now, before our Western society becomes a victim of the very violence of Islam that we are attempting to fight.
