88 Charged In MASSIVE $18 MILLION+ Food Stamp & WIC Fraud Trafficking Scheme [Full Defendant List]

June 12, 2014 at 8:32 am

54 of the defendants were those who sold their benefits (stealing food from their children’s mouths) for cash to buy God only knows. Want to help stamp out welfare fraud? Demand mandatory drug testing for recipients.

One of the largest federal food program fraud cases ever prosecuted in the US.

(FBI) –SAVANNAH, GA—A federal indictment, today unsealed in Savannah, has charged 54 defendants for their alleged roles in a massive fraud upon the WIC and Food Stamp programs. The indictment represents one of the largest federal food program frauds ever prosecuted, which fraud allegedly involved the purchase of more than $18 million in WIC vouchers and Food Stamp benefits for cash through a number of purported grocery stores set up throughout Georgia. In addition to the 54-defendant indictment, 34 other defendants have been charged separately for allegedly selling their WIC vouchers and Food Stamp benefits for cash. A list of all the defendants charged is at the conclusion of this release.
The 54-defendant indictment alleges that a number of defendants conspired to open purported grocery stores in Savannah, Macon, Atlanta, Garden City, Lithonia, LaGrange, Stone Mountain, Riverdale, and elsewhere for the purpose of buying WIC and Food Stamp benefits for cash. Once the purported stores were opened and approved as WIC and Food Stamp vendors, many of the defendants allegedly canvassed low-income neighborhoods and solicited WIC and Food Stamp participants to illegally exchange their benefits not for food but for cash. The defendants then allegedly bought WIC and Food Stamp benefits for cash at a fraction of the amount they received from the USDA by redeeming the benefits they had purchased. The defendants also allegedly conspired to launder over $18 million in proceeds received from their fraud upon the WIC and Food Stamp programs.

The 34 defendants charged separately from the larger indictment are alleged to have sold for cash over $1,000 worth of their own WIC or Food Stamp benefits and the WIC or Food Stamp benefits of their minor children.
Each of the 54 defendants listed in the larger indictment have been charged with one count of mail and wire fraud conspiracy, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000, and one count of money laundering conspiracy, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $500,000. The United States further seeks the forfeiture of $20 million and various bank accounts and assets, including a 2008 Land Rover and a 2008 Mercedes Benz. Each of the 34 defendants charged with conspiring to sell their federal food benefits face a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. [...]

Obama Outsourcing Jobs! $20M Taxpayer Funded Green Energy Projects In Africa

July 6, 2012 at 1:45 pm

Spreading the wealth thinner…

(Townhall) –The Obama Administration’s “green jobs” agenda is apparently not limited to the United States. According to CNS News, the administration created a $20 million grant that will go toward creating green projects…in Africa.

The U.S. government is spending $20 million to “help clean energy projects in Africa get started.” Those projects include wind farms and solar panels, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced at the recent Rio +20 Conference in Brazil.

But the government watchdog Judicial Watch criticized the spending as wasteful, given the administration’s track record in trying to pick green energy winners.

“The U.S.-Africa Clean Energy Finance Initiative will help clean energy projects in Africa get started,” said Clinton in her June 22 speech.  “This is an innovative partnership between three United States government entities – the State Department, OPIC (the Overseas Private Investment Corporation), and the U.S. Trade and Development Agency. We want to drive private sector investment into the energy sector.”

Clinton said the initial $20 million grant will “leverage much larger investment flows from OPIC,” which is the U.S. government’s development finance institution. “That will open the door then for hundreds of millions of dollars of OPIC financing, plus hundreds of millons of more dollars from the private sector for projects that otherwise would never get off the drawing board.”

Caught on Video! Bankrupt Solyndra Destroying MILLIONS of Dollars of Brand New Parts

January 21, 2012 at 8:56 am

Obama’s Enron.

Crony Venture Socialism

Here at this site, Solyndra expects to make enough solar panels each year to generate 500 megawatts of electricity. And over the lifetime of this expanded facility, that could be like replacing as many as eight coal-fired power plants. It’s also worth noting, to achieve this doubling of our share of solar capacity, we actually need to make four times as many solar panels, because other countries are adding capacity, too. Nobody in this race is standing still.”
~ Barack Obama –Solyndra INC. Freemont, California May 26, 2010

Just words“.

Obama’s pet green shell company went belly up after having received over a half of a BILLION dollars in taxpayer monies. And adding insult to injury, they have now been caught on tape destroying MILLIONS of dollars of parts.

And YOU PAID for IT.

CBS San Francisco has the scoop:

FREMONT (CBS 5) — After filing for bankruptcy last year, Fremont solar company Solyndra still owes American taxpayers half a billion dollars. But CBS 5 caught them destroying millions of dollars worth of parts.

At Solyndra’s sprawling complex in Fremont, workers in white jumpsuits were unwrapping brand new glass tubes used in solar panels last week. They are the latest, most cutting-edge solar technology, and they are being thrown into dumpsters.

Forklifts brought one pallet after another piled high with the carefully packaged glass. Slowly but surely it all ended up shattered.

And it’s not a few loads. Hundreds of thousands of tubes on shrink-wrapped pallets will meet a similar demise.

Solyndra paid at least $2 million for the specialized glass. A CBS 5 crew found one piece lying in the parking lot. Solyndra still owes the German company that made the tubes close to another $8 million.

So why is a bankrupt company that owes a fortune to creditors, including American taxpayers, throwing away millions of dollars worth of assets?

$1.6 MILLION Taxpayer Funded Restoration of La Raza Aztlan Chicano Park Murals

January 19, 2012 at 3:07 pm

Stand With Arizona:

On the heels of victory against the racist “La Raza” ethnic studies program in Tucson, Arizona, this shocking item from San Diego shows how far we have yet to go to Defund La Raza and its divisive, anti-American influence in America.

At a time of record debt, rampant unemployment, and a financially strained citizenry – our Federal government somehow can afford a whopping $1,600,000 to restore “Chicano” murals depicting communist butchers Che Guevara and Fidel Castro, and with maps featuring “Aztlan” – the mythical “nation” that La Raza activists demand be taken from the United States to create a new ethnically-pure proto-Mexican state.

The funds are being provided by the Department of Transportation and is called a “federal transportation enhancement”.

Official logo of Chicano Park features Aztlan inspired map of carved up United States: http://chicano-park.org

Che Guevera, Fidel Castro, "Race…YES, Border Patrol….NO!"

Read it all.

Murals depicting an Aztlan carved up United States, bloody butcher Che Guevera, Communist Dictator Castro is…wait for it… “The Sistine Chapel of California“.

“It’s the Sistine Chapel of California,” said Rosen, the former state Transportation Department official. “I have a feeling of reverence every time I go there.”

“Reverence” huh? Funny, when I see the images all I can muster is the spitting of nails…

Obama’s Failed Green Venture Crony Socialism You PAID for!

This is an outrage! Good money after bad.

(Video below the fold)

"Every day that you build this expanded facility, as you fill orders for solar panels to ship around the world, you’re demonstrating that the promise of clean energy isn’t just an article of faith -- not anymore." ~ Obama Solyndra Fremont, CA. May 26, 2011

Obama’s energy department didn’t stop with the failed crony company Solyndra. In total; the failing/failed ‘clean energy’ companies were collectively approved for $6.5 BILLION in federal (taxpayer) assistance.

Five have filed for bankruptcy. The junk bond rated Beacon Power, Evergreen Solar, Spectra Watt, AES (a subsidiary of ‘Eastern Energy) and of course Solyndra.

The others are not far behind; Nevada Geo Thermo (NGP) personally endorsed by Harry Reid, the recipient of $98.5 MILLION in loan guarantees, warns of multiple potential defaults, Sun Power received a $1.5 BILLION loan guarantee after a French oil company took it over, now owes more than it is worth, First Solar (the biggest S&P 500 loser in 2011) even though the CEO was forced out, taxpayers were forced to pony up $3 BILLION in loans.

Friday night doc dump: WH knew before Solyndra workers flew

(Hot Air) –Two months ago, Congressional investigators discovered that the Department of Energy urged the now-defunct Solyndra in late October 2010 to delay the announcement of hundreds of layoffs to just after the midterm elections. Last night, the Obama administration conducted a Friday-night document dump in a long-awaited response to a demand for documentation on communications related to Solyndra, and it turns out that the White House knew about the layoffs in advance, too:
Something smells very badly. It’s clear that the Obama administration at some level used taxpayer funds as leverage to manipulate a private enterprise for purely electoral benefit to the President, and it seems clear that the direction to do this came from the White House.

BANKRUPT Solyndra asks judge to pay out $500,000 in bonuses

(San Jose Mecury) –Solyndra, the Fremont solar panel company that laid off more than 1,000 workers upon declaring bankruptcy last summer, has reportedly requested to pay remaining employees up to $500,000 in bonuses.
Senior executives at Solyndra collected hefty quarterly bonuses — ranging from $37,000 to $60,000 apiece, with some executives receiving both rounds of bonuses — within six months of the company’s closure last August, when about 1,100 workers were laid off without severance.
