(Fox) –At the State Department briefing Thursday afternoon, spokesman Jen Psaki would not officially confirm the recording was authentic but went on to say that Nuland has since apologized to her E.U. counterparts.

Asked if she believed it was the recording of a real telephone call, Psaki said, “I didn’t say it was inauthentic. I think we can leave it at that.”

More here.

Although we will not confirm that it was her she has apologized to the EU. We will not say whether the audio was authentic, but we are also not saying that is is inauthentic.

BILL O’REILLY, HOST: Mr. President, thank you for doing this.

BARACK OBAMA: Great to be with you.

O’REILLY: Really appreciate it.

I want to get some things on the record.

So let’s begin with health care.

OBAMA: Yes?

O’REILLY: October 1st it rolls out.

OBAMA: Right.

O’REILLY: Immediately, there are problems with the computers.

OBAMA: Right.

O’REILLY: When did you know there were going to be problems with those computers?

OBAMA: Well, I think we all anticipated there would be glitches, because any time you’ve got technology, a new program rolling out, there are going to be some glitches. I don’t think I anticipated or anybody anticipated the degree of the problems with the Web site. And…

O’REILLY: So you just didn’t know when it rolled out that this was going to be…

OBAMA: Well, I don’t think…

O’REILLY: — a problem?

OBAMA: — as I said, I don’t think anybody anticipated the degree of problems that you had on HealthCare.gov. The good news is that right away, we decided how are we going to fix it, it got fixed within a month and a half, it was up and running and now it’s working the way it’s supposed to and we’ve signed up three million people.

O’REILLY: I don’t know about that, because last week, there was an Associated Press call of people who actually went to the Web site and only 8 percent of them feel that it’s working well, working well.

Why didn’t you fire Sebelius, the secretary in charge of this…

OBAMA: (INAUDIBLE).

O’REILLY: — because I mean she had to know, after all those years and all that money, that it wasn’t going to work?

OBAMA: You know, my main priority right now is making sure that it delivers for the American people. And what we…

O’REILLY: You’re not going to answer that?

OBAMA: — what — what we’ve ended up doing is we’ve got three million people signed up so far. We’re about a month behind of where we anticipated we wanted to be. We’ve got over six million people who have signed up for Medicaid.

O’REILLY: Yes.

OBAMA: We’ve got three million young people under the age of 26 who have signed up on their parents’ plan. And so what we’re constantly figuring out is how do we continue to improve it, how do we make sure that the folks who don’t have health insurance can get health insurance…

O’REILLY: OK…

OBAMA: — and those who are underinsured are able to get better health insurance.

O’REILLY: I’m sure — I’m sure that the intent is noble, but I’m a taxpayer.

OBAMA: Yes.

O’REILLY: And I’m paying Kathleen Sebelius’ salary and she screwed up.

OBAMA: Yes.

O’REILLY: And you’re not holding her accountable.

OBAMA: Yes, well, I — I promise you that we hold everybody up and down the line accountable. But when we’re…

O’REILLY: But she’s still there.

OBAMA: — when we’re in midstream, Bill, we want to make sure that our main focus is how do we make this thing work so that people are able to sign up?

And that’s what we’ve done.

O’REILLY: All right.

Was it the biggest mistake of your presidency to tell the nation over and over, if you like your insurance, you can keep your insurance?

OBAMA: Oh, Bill, you’ve got a long list of my mistakes of my presidency…

O’REILLY: But, no, really, for you…

OBAMA: — as I’ve (INAUDIBLE)…

O’REILLY: — wasn’t that the biggest one?

OBAMA: But this is — this is one that I regret and I’ve said I regretted, in part because we put in a grandfather clause in the original law saying that, in fact, you were supposed to be able to keep it. It obviously didn’t cover everybody that we needed to and that’s why we changed it, so that we further grandfathered in folks and many people who thought originally, when they got that cancellation notice, they couldn’t keep it or not (INAUDIBLE)…

O’REILLY: It’s in the past. But isn’t that the…

OBAMA: So…

O’REILLY: — biggest mistake?

OBAMA: Well, I, you know, Bill, as I said…

O’REILLY: You gave your enemies…

OBAMA: You…

O’REILLY: — a lot of fodder for it.

OBAMA: — you were very generous in saying I look pretty good considering I’ve been in the presidency for five years. And I think part of the reason is, I try to focus not on the fumbles, but on the next plan.

O’REILLY: All right.

Libya, House Armed Services testimony, General Carter Ham, you know, the general?

OBAMA: Yes. Right.

O’REILLY: Security in Africa.

OBAMA: Yes.

O’REILLY: He testified that on the day that the ambassador was murdered and the three other Americans, all right, he told Secretary Panetta it was a terrorist attack. Shortly after Ham, General Ham, said that, Secretary Panetta came in to you.

OBAMA: Yes.

O’REILLY: Did he tell you, Secretary Panetta, it was a terrorist attack?

OBAMA: You know what he told me was that there was an attack on our compound…

O’REILLY: He didn’t tell you…

OBAMA: — (INAUDIBLE)…

O’REILLY: — he didn’t use the word “terror?”

OBAMA: You know, in — in the heat of the moment, Bill, what folks are focused on is what’s happening on the ground, do we have eyes on it, how can we make sure our folks are secure…

O’REILLY: Because I just want to get this on the record…

OBAMA: So, I…

O’REILLY: — did he tell you it was a terror attack?

OBAMA: Bill — and what I’m — I’m answering your question. What he said to me was, we’ve got an attack on our compound. We don’t know yet…

O’REILLY: No terror attack?

OBAMA: — we don’t know yet who’s doing it. Understand, by definition, Bill, when somebody is attacking our compound…

O’REILLY: Yes?

OBAMA: — that’s an act of terror, which is how I characterized it the day after it happened. So the — so the question ends up being who, in fact, was attacking us?

O’REILLY: But it’s more than that…

OBAMA: And that…

O’REILLY: — though…

OBAMA: — well, we…

O’REILLY: — because of Susan Rice.

OBAMA: No, it…

O’REILLY: It’s more than that because if Susan Rice goes out and tells the world that it was a spontaneous demonstration…

OBAMA: Bill…

O’REILLY: — off a videotape but your…

OBAMA: Bill…

O’REILLY: — your commanders and the secretary of Defense know it’s a terror attack…

OBAMA: Now, Bill…

O’REILLY: Just…

OBAMA: — Bill…

O’REILLY: — as an American…

OBAMA: — Bill — Bill…

O’REILLY: — I’m just confused.

OBAMA: And I’m — and I’m trying to explain it to, if you want to listen. The fact of the matter is is that people understood, at the time, something very dangerous was happening, that we were focused on making sure that we did everything we can — could — to protect them. In the aftermath, what became clear was that the security was lax, that not all the precautions and — that needed to be taken were taken and both myself and Secretary Clinton and others indicated as much.

But at the moment, when these things happen, Bill, on the other side of the world, people…

O’REILLY: It’s the fog of war…

OBAMA: — people — that’s — people don’t know at the very moment exactly why something like this happens. And when you look at the videotape of this whole thing unfolding, this is not some systematic, well organized process. You see…

O’REILLY: Well, it was heavy weapons used…

OBAMA: — you…

O’REILLY: — and that…

OBAMA: — what you…

O’REILLY: — that’s the thing…

OBAMA: — what you see — Bill…

O’REILLY: — heavy weapons coming in.

OBAMA: — Bill, listen, I — I — I’ve gone through this and we have had multiple hearings on it. What happens is you have an attack like this taking place and you have a mix of folks who are just troublemakers. You have folks who have an ideological agenda.

O’REILLY: All right.

OBAMA: You have some who are affiliated with terrorist organizations. You have some that are not. But the main thing that all of us have to take away from this is our diplomats are serving in some very dangerous places.

O’REILLY: But there’s more…

OBAMA: And we’ve got…

O’REILLY: — there’s more than that…

OBAMA: — and we’ve got — and we’ve got to make sure that not only have we implemented all the reforms that were recommended…

O’REILLY: OK.

OBAMA: — by the independent agency…

O’REILLY: I…

OBAMA: — but we also have to make sure that we understand our folks out there are in a hazardous, dangerous situation…

O’REILLY: I think everybody understands that…

OBAMA: — and we…

O’REILLY: — Mr. President.

OBAMA: No, but — but, actually, not everybody does, because what ends up happening…

O’REILLY: I think they do.

OBAMA: — what ends up happening is we end up creating a political agenda…

O’REILLY: Absolutely…

OBAMA: — over something…

O’REILLY: — and that’s…

OBAMA: — (INAUDIBLE)…

O’REILLY: — that was my next question.

OBAMA: — which Democrats and Republicans should be unified in trying to figure out how are we going to protect people (INAUDIBLE)?

O’REILLY: I’ve got to get to the IRS…

OBAMA: OK.

O’REILLY: — but I just want to say that they’re — your detractors believe that you did not tell the world it was a terror attack because your campaign didn’t want that out.

OBAMA: Bill, think about…

O’REILLY: That’s what they believe.

OBAMA: — and they believe it because folks like you are telling them that.

O’REILLY: No, I’m not telling them that.

(LAUGHTER)

O’REILLY: I’m asking you whether you were told…

OBAMA: But — and what I’m saying is…

O’REILLY: — it was a terror attack and you…

OBAMA: – and what I’m saying is that is inaccurate.

O’REILLY: All right.

OBAMA: We — we revealed to the American people exactly what we understood at the time. The notion that we would hide the ball for political purposes when, a week later, we all said, in fact, there was a terrorist attack taking place the day after, I said it was an act of terror, that wouldn’t be a very good cover-up…

O’REILLY: All right.

OBAMA: — if that’s what we were interested in.

O’REILLY: I’ve got to get to the IRS…

OBAMA: Yes.

O’REILLY: — because I don’t know what happened there and I’m hoping maybe you can tell us. Douglas Shulman, former IRS chief, he was cleared into the White House 157 times, more than any of your cabinet members, more than any other IRS guy in the history, by far.

OK, why was Douglas Shulman here 157 times?

Why?

OBAMA: Mr. Shulman, as the head of the IRS, is constantly coming in, because at the time, we were trying to set up the, uh, HealthCare.gov and the IRS…

O’REILLY: What did he have to do with that?

OBAMA: — and the IRS is involved in making sure that that works as part of the overall health care team.

O’REILLY: So it was all health care?

OBAMA: Number two, we’ve also got the IRS involved when it comes to some of the financial reforms to make sure that we don’t have taxpayer funded bailouts in the future. So you had all these different agendas in which the head of the IRS is naturally involved.

O’REILLY: Did you speak to him a lot…

OBAMA: — (INAUDIBLE).

O’REILLY: — yourself?

OBAMA: I do not recall meeting with him in any of these meetings that are pretty routine meetings that we had.

O’REILLY: OK, so you don’t — you don’t recall seeing Shulman, because what some people are saying is that the IRS was used…

OBAMA: Yes.

O’REILLY: — at a — at a local level in Cincinnati, and maybe other places to go after…

OBAMA: Absolutely wrong.

O’REILLY: — to go after.

OBAMA: Absolutely wrong.

O’REILLY: But how do you know that, because we — we still don’t know what happened there?

OBAMA: Bill, we do — that’s not what happened. They — folks have, again, had multiple hearings on this. I mean these kinds of things keep on surfacing, in part because you and your TV station will promote them.

O’REILLY: But don’t…

OBAMA: But when (INAUDIBLE)…

O’REILLY: — think there are unanswered questions?

OBAMA: Bill, when you actually look at this stuff, there have been multiple hearings on it. What happened here was it that you’ve got a…

O’REILLY: But there’s no definition on it.

OBAMA: — you’ve got a 501(c)(4) law that people think is focusing. No — that the folks did not know how to implement…

O’REILLY: OK…

OBAMA: — because it basically says…

O’REILLY: — so you’re saying there was no…

OBAMA: — if you are involved…

O’REILLY: — no corruption there at all, none?

OBAMA: That’s not what I’m saying.

O’REILLY: (INAUDIBLE).

OBAMA: That’s actually…

O’REILLY: No, no, but I want to know what…

OBAMA: — (INAUDIBLE)…

O’REILLY: — you’re saying. You’re the leader of the country.

OBAMA: Absolutely.

O’REILLY: You’re saying no corruption?

OBAMA: No.

O’REILLY: None?

No?

OBAMA: There were some — there were some bone-headed decisions…

O’REILLY: Bone-headed decisions…

OBAMA: — out of — out of a local office…

O’REILLY: But no mass corruption?

OBAMA: Not even mass corruption, not even a smidgeon of corruption, I would say.

O’REILLY: OK. I got a letter from Kathy LaMaster (ph), Fresno, California. I said I would read one letter from the folks, all right?

OBAMA: All right.

O’REILLY: “Mr. President, why do you feel it’s necessary to fundamentally transform the nation that has afforded you so much opportunity and success?”

OBAMA: I don’t think we have to fundamentally transform the nation…

O’REILLY: But those are your words.

OBAMA: I think that what we have to do is make sure that here in America, if you work hard, you can get ahead. Bill, you and I benefitted from this incredible country of ours, in part, because there were good jobs out there that paid a good wage, because you had public schools that functioned well, that we could get scholarships if we didn’t come from a wealthy family, in order to go to college.

O’REILLY: Right.

OBAMA: That, you know, if you worked hard, not only did you have a good job, but you also had decent benefits, decent health care…

O’REILLY: They’re cutting me off…

OBAMA: — and for a lot of folks, we don’t have that. We’ve got to make sure that we’re doing everything we can to expand the middle class…

O’REILLY: All right…

OBAMA: — and work hard and people who are working hard can get into the middle class.

O’REILLY: I think — I — you know, I know you think maybe we haven’t been fair, but I think your heart is in the right place.

Projection for the game — who’s going to win the Super Bowl?

OBAMA: I can’t make a prediction. I don’t know. These guys are too evenly matched. I think it is going to be 24-21, but I don’t know who’s going to be…

O’REILLY: You don’t really know?

OBAMA: — 24 and I don’t know who’s going to be 21.

O’REILLY: Mr. President, thanks very much.

OBAMA: I enjoyed it.

Thank you.

CONFIRMED! Obama DOS Ordered CBP To Bar Routine TSA Security Inspections For Visiting Muslim Brotherhood Officials

January 23, 2014 at 11:38 am

obama muslim-brotherhood
Documents obtained through an Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT) FOIA request reveal the Obama regime gave the ‘Muslim Brotherhood (Palestinian terrorist group Hamas’ parent org/Pali MB jihad wing) security inspection free red carpet treatment upon their arrival in the U.S. in April of 2012. Including one so called ‘delegate’ who had been linked to a child porn investigation in the United States.

Meanwhile American citizens traveling across the US are subjected to highly invasive security pat downs and screenings. I do not care if you are Her Majesty the Queen of England, you should have to undergo the same security screenings that everyday Americans are forced to undergo. ‘Trust but verify’ would be a good rule of thumb when it comes to safety and security. Fair is fair! So it goes without saying that a group directly and openly linked to the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas should face even more intensive security inspections when they arrive on American soil. Diplomacy is diplomacy. BUT bowing in appeasement to the Muslim Brotherhood; sworn enemies of the United States and all she stands for, is not in the best interest of the safety and security of her citizens! It is utter extreme left-wing “let’s give peace a chance” madness!

muslim brotherhood delegates allowed to skip dhs airport inspections april 2012

Screenshot of the one-page document labeled “Compiled References to MB Delegation Arrival and Departure” released by the US State Dept.

IPT reports:

Newly released records confirm a 2012 Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT) >report< that the State Department cleared the way for a visiting delegation of Muslim Brotherhood officials to enter the country without undergoing routine inspection by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents.

The April 2012 visit came before the Muslim Brotherhood’s candidate was elected Egypt’s president, although the Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) had won a plurality of seats in parliamentary elections. The expedited entry is known as a “port courtesy” normally reserved for high-ranking visiting government officials and dignitaries.

The records, marked “sensitive but unclassified,” were obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request. They offer few details. The State Department released a one-page document labeled “Compiled References to MB Delegation Arrival and Departure” containing four separate communications between March 30 and April 16, 2012 about the Brotherhood delegation. It is not clear who wrote them or who received them.

“In the coming days, we’re going to write down a list of procedures for dealing with MB visits to the United States,” an April 16, 2012 entry says.

A March 30 communication offers help dealing with “FJP Delegation and POE [port of entry] Courtesies: Please let the desk know over the weekend if you’d like our help submitting to DHS the ‘Special Alerts,’ which are used to request that travelers not be pulled into secondary [inspection] upon arrival at a point of entry.”

But one member of the Brotherhood delegation, which >met< with U.S. academic and senior government officials, had been linked to a child pornography investigation in the United States years earlier. Under normal circumstances, he likely would have been subjected to extra scrutiny.
……
In addition, the Muslim Brotherhood has open connections with Hamas, the Palestinian terrorist group which was created to be the Brotherhood’s Palestinian jihadist wing. That fact would have made a secondary inspection for the delegation a natural, if not for the State Department’s instructions.

A U.S. official familiar with immigration procedures told the IPT in 2012 that the exemption for the Brotherhood delegation was “extraordinary.”

Benghazi Victims’ Families,Conservative & Military Leaders To Boehner: Create A Select Committee Now

January 8, 2014 at 1:20 pm

Benghazi-4

The Honorable John Boehner

Speaker, U.S. House of Representatives

The Capitol, H-232

Washington, D.C., 20515

January 6, 2014

Dear Speaker Boehner,

We write to express our grave concern over the failure of your House of Representatives to extract the truth from the Obama administration concerning the attack on our diplomatic and intelligence facilities in Benghazi, Libya; and, the brutal deaths of Ambassador Christopher Stephens, U.S. Foreign Service Officer Sean Smith, and security officers Ty Woods and Glen Doherty.

To date, five (5) different committees of the House have conducted separate hearings, uncovering information in a piecemeal fashion lacking professional investigators. The five committees’ efforts are disjointed and uncoordinated. The Obama administration has benefited from that dysfunctional process to hide the truth. Hardly any Obama administration witnesses have testified – publicly or privately. You have resisted repeated calls for the creation of a select investigative committee with subpoena authority. It appears that you are satisfied to allow that state of investigative incoherence and ambiguity to continue. The last public hearing by any of the five committees was held in September – four (4) months ago. The families of the dead who fought valiantly to protect the mission and their families, the survivors, and the American people deserve better from you and your Members of Congress. They deserve the absolute truth from their government. Your failure to get the truth and hold public officials accountable increases the possibility of other repeat attacks and additional failures to defend Americans abroad.

On Sunday, December 29, 2013, the New York Times published a story concerning the Benghazi attacks that directly contradicts the sworn testimony of witnesses who appeared before various committees. Besides the obvious New York Times editorial and political objectives of inoculating Hillary Clinton and her 2016 presidential campaign from further criticism of her failures as Secretary of State, the story contradicts objective truth and established facts in a way that confuses the public. Your inaction and failure to lead on the Benghazi investigation directly contributes to the repetition of lies; a lack of accountability from responsible government officials; and the political advancement of persons who seek to continue to “fundamentally transform” the Constitution and our country. The New York Times recent publication proves the Benghazi story is not “going away.”

Your oversight of the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation has been without any meaningful effect or result. Not a single terrorist in this well-planned and executed military attack by radical Islamists has been apprehended. Ahmed Abu Khattala, a ringleader of the attack, granted long interviews to reporters in Benghazi cafes, while the Obama administration – and you – have done nothing. Nearly 16 months after the terrorist attack, the American public has no accountability and no plan of action from House leadership. The public is subjected to undisputed disinformation from a White House who calls the terror attack a “phony scandal.” While the White House repeats false and misleading information, you continue to ignore claims, documented by Rep. Frank Wolf, of intelligence officers being intimidated with multiple, punitive polygraph examinations and harassing non-disclosure agreement demands. If Benghazi is “phony” why are intelligence officers being threatened not to speak and subjected to polygraph exams? Why do you stand by passively?

Some analysts believe your inaction and passivity towards getting to the truth concerning Benghazi is because you were briefed on the intelligence and special operations activities in Libya as a member of the “Super 8.” You may possess “guilty knowledge.” We recall how then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi developed a form of “amnesia” concerning a documented briefing she received on so-called “enhanced interrogation techniques” – later termed “torture” for political purposes. Are you in the same position as your predecessor? Are you dodging a legitimate, thorough, coordinated investigation of Benghazi because it will damage your political position as Speaker?

You should be embarrassed that members of Congress, and your own party, are forced to file Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests with Obama administration agencies to get basic information about the Benghazi issue. What a sad and pathetic statement about the operations of House standing committees looking into this tragedy that FOIA has become the last resort of even Republican Members seeking the truth! Are you concerned that the scattershot and untimely efforts of the various committees may actually be doing more harm than good at documenting facts? These are all examples of Republican leadership failures. How are you accountable?

Rep. Mike Rogers and the Intelligence Committee seem to act as defense counsel for the Obama administration. A recent Intelligence Committee weekly update note stated as fact that no arms shipments were being run from Libya, and that no intelligence officers were being coerced not to speak. There is substantial evidence to the contrary on both counts. Why does Rep. Rogers parrot the discredited falsehoods of the so-called “Accountability Review Board” (ARB)? Conflicting accounts, testimony and evidence need to be investigated – not dismissed or ignored. Don’t those contradictions and questions compel you, on behalf of the American people, to take any action to resolve the matter and get to the truth?

Aren’t you concerned that General Carter Ham was suddenly and prematurely recalled from AFRICOM, and then made statements at the Aspen Institute that directly contradicted the Obama administration’s position on the nature of the attack in Benghazi? Why has General Ham not testified publicly before one of the House committees?

The New York Times story reports that the CIA was, in fact, collecting weapons in Benghazi. If true, why was the CIA running a separate, parallel weapons program from the State Department’s $40 million collection effort? Where did the CIA-purchased weapons go? Is the Obama administration arming al Qaeda affiliated jihadists in Syria?

If you wished, you could have publicly engaged Rep. Devin Nunes concerning his November 6, 2013 letter to you, addressing the nine unanswered questions about Benghazi. Instead, there was thundering silence from your office. You have an opportunity to show strong leadership and resolve a national disgrace perpetrated by specific public officials. You are failing.

Your reluctance to lead and resistance to create a Select Committee on Benghazi must end. More than 75% of all House Republicans – with the conspicuous absence of those in leadership or committee chairmen – have cosponsored Rep. Wolf’s Select Committee bill. Few bills in this Congress demonstrate such overwhelming support from Republicans. Additionally, the bill enjoys the support of national security advocacy groups, and the Wall Street Journal editorial board, among many others.

We urge you to bring the bill to the floor for a vote immediately to start effective oversight on this critical national security matter immediately. We have waited long enough. Your approach is not working.

Mr. Speaker, we call upon you to act now and create a Select Committee on Benghazi to investigate all aspects of the United States involvement in Libya, to include, but not be limited to the attacks of September 11, 2012. It must now also include the protracted cover-up the American people, the families of the fallen and those with loved ones serving overseas have endured. The new committee must have subpoena power, capable staff and Members from both parties who are committed to finding the truth, not playing politics. The Committee must be staffed with new, professional, qualified and experienced investigators. It must have resources to conduct a thorough, comprehensive investigation and issue an exhaustive report before this Congress adjourns.

Sincerely,

Video: Susan Rice Calls Benghazi “False Controversy”

December 23, 2013 at 10:29 am

Annnnd …FIVE days after the 9/11 anniversary attack in Benghazi then US Ambassador to the UN Susan Rice appeared on FIVE Sunday morning talk shows (blaming the video) pinch hitting for then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton because …wait for it… Hillary had a “painful stressful week”.

WOW!

FOUR Americans were killed by bloodthirsty Islamic jihadist savages during an 8 hour siege, and Hill’s week was “painful” and “stressful”?!?!

Soulless creatures.

(Politico) –National Security Adviser Susan Rice says she has no regrets about taking the Sunday show interviews that brought her career under fire in September 2012.

Pressed Sunday on CBS’s “60 Minutes” as to why Hillary Clinton didn’t appear for interviews following the lethal attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Rice said she had filled in willingly because of the then-secretary of state’s particularly “painful” and “stressful” week.

“I don’t have time to think about the false controversy,” Rice said. “In the midst of all of swirl about things like talking points, the administration has been working very, very hard across the globe to review our security of our embassies and our facilities. That’s what we ought to be focused on.”

FOUR Americans died but to the Obama Regime Benghazi is a “false controversy” about a “phony scandal” that happened “a long time ago” SO “what difference does it make“?

@60Minutes: #Benghazi “Planned,Sophisticated al-Qaeda Attack” On “Barely Protected American Outpost” [Full Video & Transcript]

It’s all there in the keywords:

(CBS)–”Benghazi was a planned, sophisticated attack by al Qaeda against a barely protected American outpost. Lara Logan reports.”

A solid report and [the video] was not mentioned –once. In fact all fingers point to an incompetent, oblivious, callous Obama administration. An administration who knew from the beginning that it was a planned islamic jihad attack NOT  repercussion from some obscure internet video!

When Chris Stevens was killed in Benghazi, Libya, on the anniversary of September 11th last year, it was only the sixth time that the United States had lost an ambassador to its enemies. The events of that night have been overshadowed by misinformation, confusion and intense partisanship. But for those who lived through it, there’s nothing confusing about what happened, and they share a sense of profound frustration because they say they saw it coming.

Tonight, you will hear for the first time from a security officer who witnessed the attack. He calls himself, Morgan Jones, a pseudonym he’s using for his own safety. A former British soldier, he’s been helping to keep U.S. diplomats and military leaders safe for the last decade. On a night he describes as sheer hell, Morgan Jones snuck into a Benghazi hospital that was under the control of al Qaeda terrorists, desperate to find out if one of his close friends from the U.S. Special Mission was the American he’d been told was there.

Morgan Jones: I was dreading seeing who it was, you know? It didn’t take long to get to the room. And I could see in through the glass. And I didn’t even have to go into the room to see who it was. I knew who it was immediately.

Lara Logan: Who was it?

Morgan Jones: It was the ambassador, dead. Yeah, shocking.

Morgan Jones said he’d never felt so angry in his life. Only hours earlier, Amb. Chris Stevens had sought him out, concerned about the security at the U.S. Special Mission Compound where Morgan was in charge of the Libyan guard force.

Now, the ambassador was dead and the U.S. compound was engulfed in flames and overrun by dozens of heavily armed fighters.

Although the attack began here, the more organized assault unfolded about a mile across the city at a top secret CIA facility known as the Annex. It lasted more than seven hours and took four American lives.

Contrary to the White House’s public statements, which were still being made a full week later, it’s now well established that the Americans were attacked by al Qaeda in a well-planned assault.

Five months before that night, Morgan Jones first arrived in Benghazi, in eastern Libya about 400 miles from the capital, Tripoli.

He thought this would be an easy assignment compared to Afghanistan and Iraq. But on his first drive through Benghazi, he noticed the black flags of al Qaeda flying openly in the streets and he grew concerned about the guard forces as soon as he pulled up to the U.S. compound.

Morgan Jones: There was nobody there that we could see. And then we realized they were all inside drinking tea, laughing and joking.

Lara Logan: What did you think?

Morgan Jones: Instantly I thought we’re going to have to get rid of all these guys.

Morgan Jones’ job was training the unarmed guards who manned the compound’s gates. A second Libyan force — an armed militia hired by the State Department — was supposed to defend the compound in the event of an attack. Morgan had nothing to do with the militia, but they worried him so much, he could not keep quiet.

Morgan Jones: I was saying, “These guys are no good. You need to– you need to get ‘em out of here.”

Lara Logan: You also kept saying, “If this place is attacked these guys are not going to stand and fight?”

Morgan Jones: Yeah. I used to say it all the time. Yeah, in the end I got quite bored of hearing my own voice saying it.

Andy Wood: We had one option: “Leave Benghazi or you will be killed.”

Green Beret Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Andy Wood, was one of the top American security officials in Libya. Based in Tripoli, he met with Amb. Stevens every day.

The last time he went to Benghazi was in June, just three months before the attack. While he was there, al Qaeda tried to assassinate the British ambassador. Wood says, to him, it came as no surprise because al Qaeda — using a familiar tactic — had stated their intent in an online posting, saying they would attack the Red Cross, the British and then the Americans in Benghazi.

Lara Logan: And you watched as they–

Andy Wood: As they did each one of those.

Lara Logan: –attacked the Red Cross and the British mission. And the only ones left–

Andy Wood: Were us. They made good on two out of the three promises. It was a matter of time till they captured the third one.

Lara Logan: And Washington was aware of that?

Andy Wood: They knew we monitored it. We included that in our reports to both State Department and DOD.

Andy Wood told us he raised his concerns directly with Amb. Stevens three months before the U.S. compound was overrun.

Andy Wood: I made it known in a country team meeting, “You are gonna get attacked. You are gonna get attacked in Benghazi. It’s gonna happen. You need to change your security profile.”

Lara Logan: Shut down–

Andy Wood: Shut down–

Lara Logan: –the special mission–

Andy Wood: –”Shut down operations. Move out temporarily. Ch– or change locations within the city. Do something to break up the profile because you are being targeted. They are– they are– they are watching you. The attack cycle is such that they’re in the final planning stages.”

Lara Logan: Wait a minute, you said, “They’re in the final planning stages of an attack on the American mission in Benghazi”?

Andy Wood: It was apparent to me that that was the case. Reading, reading all these other, ah, attacks that were occurring, I could see what they were staging up to, it was, it was obvious.

We have learned the U.S. already knew that this man, senior al Qaeda leader Abu Anas al-Libi was in Libya, tasked by the head of al Qaeda to establish a clandestine terrorist network inside the country. Al-Libi was already wanted for his role in bombing two U.S. embassies in Africa.

Greg Hicks: It was a frightening piece of information.

Lara Logan: Because it meant what?

Greg Hicks: It raised the stakes, changed the game.

Greg Hicks, who testified before Congress earlier this year, was Amb. Stevens’ deputy based in Tripoli – a 22-year veteran of the Foreign Service with an impeccable reputation.

Lara Logan: And in that environment you were asking for more security assets and you were not getting them?

Greg Hicks: That’s right.

Lara Logan: Did you fight that?

Greg Hicks: I was in the process of trying to frame a third request but it was not allowed to go forward.

Lara Logan: So why didn’t you get the help that you needed and that you asked for?

Greg Hicks: I really, really don’t know. I in fact would like to know that, the answer to that question.

In the months prior to the attack, Amb. Stevens approved a series of detailed cables to Washington, specifically mentioning, among other things, “the al Qaeda flag has been spotted several times flying over government buildings”.

When the attack began on the evening of September 11, Amb. Stevens immediately called Greg Hicks, who was back in Tripoli.

Greg Hicks: Ambassador said that the consulate’s under attack. And then the line cut.

Lara Logan: Do you remember the sound of his voice?

Greg Hicks: Oh yeah, it’s indelibly imprinted on my mind.

Lara Logan: How did he sound?

Greg Hicks: He sounded frightened.

In Benghazi, Morgan Jones, who was at his apartment about 15 minutes away, got a frantic call from one of his Libyan guards.

Morgan Jones: I could hear gunshots. And I– and he said, “There’s– there’s men coming into the mission.” His voice, he was, he was scared, you could tell he was really scared and he was running, I could tell he was running.

His first thought was for his American friends, the State Department agents who were pinned down inside the compound, and he couldn’t believe it when one of them answered his phone.

Morgan Jones: I said, “What’s going on?” He said, “We’re getting attacked.” And I said, “How many?” And he said, “They’re all over the compound.” And I felt shocked, I didn’t know what to say. And– I said, “Well, just keep fighting. I’m on my way.”

Morgan’s guards told him the armed Libyan militia that was supposed to defend the compound had fled, just as Morgan had predicted. His guards — unarmed and terrified — sounded the alarm, but they were instantly overwhelmed by the attackers.

Morgan Jones: They said, “We’re here to kill Americans, not Libyans,” so they’d give them a good beating, pistol whip them, beat them with their rifles and let them go.

Lara Logan: We’re here to kill Americans.

Morgan Jones: That’s what they said, yeah.

Lara Logan: Not Libyans.

Morgan Jones: Yeah.

About 30 minutes into the attack, a quick reaction force from the CIA Annex ignored orders to wait and raced to the compound, at times running and shooting their way through the streets just to get there. Inside the compound, they repelled a force of as many as 60 armed terrorists and managed to save five American lives and recover the body of Foreign Service Officer Sean Smith. They were forced to fight their way out before they could find the ambassador.

Not long afterwards, Morgan Jones scaled the 12-foot high wall of the compound that was still overrun with al Qaeda fighters.

Morgan Jones: One guy saw me. He just shouted. I couldn’t believe that he’d seen me ’cause it was so dark. He started walking towards me.

Lara Logan: And as he was coming closer?

Morgan Jones: As I got closer, I just hit him with the butt of the rifle in the face.

Lara Logan: And?

Morgan Jones: Oh, he went down, yeah.

Lara Logan: He dropped?

Morgan Jones: Yeah, like– like a stone.

Lara Logan: With his face smashed in?

Morgan Jones: Yeah.

Lara Logan: And no one saw you do it?

Morgan Jones: No.

Lara Logan: Or heard it?

Morgan Jones: No, there was too much noise.

The same force that had gone to the compound was now defending the CIA Annex. Hours later, they were joined by a small team of Americans from Tripoli. From defensive positions on these rooftops, the Americans fought back a professional enemy. In a final wave of intense fighting just after 5 a.m., the attackers unleashed a barrage of mortars. Three of them slammed into this roof, killing former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty.

Lara Logan: They hit that roof three times.

Andy Wood: They, they hit those roofs three times.

Lara Logan: In the dark.

Andy Wood: Yea, that’s getting the basketball through the hoop over your shoulder.

Lara Logan: What does it take to pull off an attack like that?

Andy Wood: Coordination, planning, training, experienced personnel. They practice those things. They knew what they were doing. That was a– that was a well-executed attack.

We have learned there were two Delta Force operators who fought at the Annex and they’ve since been awarded the Distinguished Service Cross and the Navy Cross — two of the military’s highest honors. The Americans who rushed to help that night went without asking for permission and the lingering question is why no larger military response ever crossed the border into Libya — something Greg Hicks realized wasn’t going to happen just an hour into the attack.

Lara Logan: You have this conversation with the defense attache. You ask him what military assets are on their way. And he says–

Greg Hicks: Effectively, they’re not. And I– for a moment, I just felt lost. I just couldn’t believe the answer. And then I made the call to the Annex chief, and I told him, “Listen, you’ve gotta tell those guys there may not be any help coming.”

Lara Logan: That’s a tough thing to understand. Why?

Greg Hicks: It just is. We–, for us, for the people that go out onto the edge, to represent our country, we believe that if we get in trouble, they’re coming to get us. That our back is covered. To hear that it’s not, it’s a terrible, terrible experience.

The U.S. government today acknowledges the Americans at the U.S. compound in Benghazi were not adequately protected. And says those who carried out the attack are still being hunted down.

Just a few weeks ago, Abu Anas al-Libi was captured for his role in the Africa bombings and the U.S. is still investigating what part he may have played in Benghazi. We’ve learned that this man, Sufian bin Qumu, a former Guantanamo Bay detainee and long-time al Qaeda operative, was one of the lead planners along with Faraj al-Chalabi, whose ties to Osama bin Laden go back more than 15 years. He’s believed to have carried documents from the compound to the head of al Qaeda in Pakistan.

The morning after the attack, Morgan Jones went back to the compound one last time to document the scene. He took these photos which he gave to the FBI and has published in a book he has written. After all this time, he told us he’s still haunted by a conversation he had with Foreign Service Officer Sean Smith, a week before the attack.

Morgan Jones: Yeah, he was worried. He wasn’t happy with the security.

Lara Logan: And you didn’t tell him all your worries?

Morgan Jones: No. No, didn’t want to–

Lara Logan: Why not?

Morgan Jones: I didn’t want to worry him anymore, you know? He’s a nice guy. I sort of promised him he’d be OK.

Lara Logan: You think about that?

Morgan Jones: Every day, yeah.

The U.S. pulled out of Benghazi and al Qaeda has grown in power across Libya. When a member of our team went to the U.S. compound earlier this month, he found remnants of the Americans’ final frantic moments still scattered on the ground. Among them Amb. Stevens’ official schedule for Sept.12, 2012, a day he didn’t live to see.

On Eve Of #ObamaReidShutdown Obama Regime Approved $5 MILLION Embassy Crystal Contract

October 8, 2013 at 1:04 pm

rise-and-fall hope and change maksim
Fancy, smancy. Because only the best will do when the country is buried in trillions upon trillions of Obama debt.

(VNews) –Quechee — On eve of last week’s government shutdown, Simon Pearce won a potential five-year competitive contract for $5 million to provide 20 different styles of custom handcrafted stem and barware to the State Department for use in American embassies around the world.

The contract stipulates that the items be made in the United States, Clay Adams, chief executive officer at Simon Pearce, said in an email.

“Simon Pearce is a natural fit for this given its production in Vermont and Maryland. Simon Pearce received its first purchase order … for more than 12,000 pieces, most of which will be produced here in Vermont later this year,” Adams said.

The contract also will allow Simon Pearce to hire glass blowers in the Upper Valley, and much of the work will be done in the Quechee facility, he said.

……
During the last week of September in 2012, the government spent $45 billion on contracts and spending spiked by $100 billion, according to The Washington Post and the conservative nonprofit group Public Notice.

The Benghazi four (may they RIP) are unavailable for comment.

Protest sign outside US Embassy in Egypt: Obama Stop Supporting

Protest sign outside US Embassy in Egypt: “Obama Stop Supporting (Muslim Brotherhood) Fascist Regime”

The White House

Office of the Press Secretary
For Immediate Release
July 03, 2013
Statement by President Barack Obama on Egypt

As I have said since the Egyptian Revolution, the United States supports a set of core principles, including opposition to violence, protection of universal human rights, and reform that meets the legitimate aspirations of the people. The United States does not support particular individuals or political parties, but we are committed to the democratic process and respect for the rule of law. Since the current unrest in Egypt began, we have called on all parties to work together to address the legitimate grievances of the Egyptian people, in accordance with the democratic process, and without recourse to violence or the use of force.

The United States is monitoring the very fluid situation in Egypt, and we believe that ultimately the future of Egypt can only be determined by the Egyptian people. Nevertheless, we are deeply concerned by the decision of the Egyptian Armed Forces to remove President Morsy and suspend the Egyptian constitution [Based on sharia law --ed.]. I now call on the Egyptian military to move quickly and responsibly to return full authority back to a democratically elected civilian government as soon as possible through an inclusive and transparent process, and to avoid any arbitrary arrests of President Morsy and his supporters. Given today’s developments, I have also directed the relevant departments and agencies to review the implications under U.S. law for our assistance to the Government of Egypt.

The United States continues to believe firmly that the best foundation for lasting stability in Egypt is a democratic political order with participation from all sides and all political parties —secular and religious, civilian and military. During this uncertain period, we expect the military to ensure that the rights of all Egyptian men and women are protected, including the right to peaceful assembly, due process, and free and fair trials in civilian courts. Moreover, the goal of any political process should be a government that respects the rights of all people, majority and minority; that institutionalizes the checks and balances upon which democracy depends; and that places the interests of the people above party or faction. The voices of all those who have protested peacefully must be heard – including those who welcomed today’s developments, and those who have supported President Morsy. In the interim, I urge all sides to avoid violence and come together to ensure the lasting restoration of Egypt’s democracy.

No transition to democracy comes without difficulty, but in the end it must stay true to the will of the people. An honest, capable and representative government is what ordinary Egyptians seek and what they deserve. The longstanding partnership between the United States and Egypt is based on shared interests and values, and we will continue to work with the Egyptian people to ensure that Egypt’s transition to democracy succeeds.
